My friend's fiancee's ex-wife is dating a convicted sex offender! She knows about it and still sees him. She has 2 daughters in her home and won't let the father see them. We think she is trying to make sure the children won't say anything to their father about this. The 7 year old is peeing her pants. To me, that is a sign the sex offender is doing something to her! CPS won't go over to the mother's house and check it out. What can I tell my friend to do about this? The father and mother go to court I guess next month. Please, I have been trying to look for information for her, and then I thought of this! Give me some honest answers everyone! The police said they can do a welfare check and that's all they can do, unless when they do the check they see something suspicious.

I filed a complaint on a person who wrote me a bad check for $75 in 1996. I know a warrant was issued, but he was never apprehended. Well, according to some aquaintances of mine, he moved back here two months ago from Arizona. Can I still go after my money??

I was on a london bus last August & although I had an oyster card on me I didn't swipe it in the machine.
my mind was on meeting my little girl to take her to the hospital as she wasn't well. anyhow a ticket inspecter got on & saw I hadn't swiped my card, he took it from me & I have now had a letter saying I must go to court. The letter says I can attend or not, the choice is mine. Will it go worse for me if I just fill out the papers & don't go or do you think I should go to court. I'm pleading guilty anyhow.
Has this happened to anyone else & if so what was the outcome?

London transport is asking for £95 towards costs, will I get fined on top of that? at the moment I'm unemployed & wondering how much they may fine me. I had money on my oyster card but the inspecter wouldn't allow me to swipe it when he got on the bus.
Please advise if you can, I can't get legal aid for this & can't afford a solicitor..

About a month ago, I was drinking with my boyfriend at a friend's apartment. I'm 17, my boyfriend is 19 and our friend is 20. The cops came because they claim that we were being too loud and we all took breathalyzers and got citations. I was the only one that was legally drunk but I'm also the only one who has to go to court because I'm under 18. I don't know how much of a court hearing it will be since I just have to show up at the probation office in town. I live in Nevada. Does anyone know what will happen? I know I'll have to pay a fine, but is it like guarenteed that I'll get community service? It's only my first time and it's not like I was in a car. Anyone know?

Are police directed by their local civilian officials, to enforce laws that have more to do with the raising of revenue, than the administration of justice?

If a C.I. in a drug case had given info that was used for obtaining a no knock search warrant, and affiant states reason for no knock was based solely on CI's sworn statement, but the C.I. afterwards gives sworn statement in the form of a general affidavit in front of a Notory public and signed, that he/she did not give the said info to law enforcement and denies all info in police affidavit to be true. Does this make illegal search? Totality an issue even though? C.I. unreliable and frivulous info?

I'm a female who lives in Phoenix, Az and when I turn 21 I want to be a police officer. I know that a HS diploma or GED is the only thing they say they require, but I have read that unless you are at least 25 or so you would need a university degree. Is this true? Can anyone that became a cop at a young age share their experience?

Harsher punishments for more deterrence, more focus on rehabilitation and less on punishment, vice versa, more responsible parenting, reduction of gangs, tougher gun laws, physical punishment for some crimes, or come up with your own answer! This is a survey for a school project. The idea is that hopefully hundreds of people will answer and my teacher will be think that a lot of effort went into this, thus he will be impressed, so please answer!
