Hopefully you're talking about your controlling BF who needs to be locked up away from you so you can finally be free.

In most cases life without parole is not really life at all. Very often after anywhere from as few as 8 or 10 years to as many as 25 years or so, those sentenced to life are released. In countries like canada and the UK life is legally defined as 25 years. The term life without parole is much more a political thing designed to make people feel justice has been done than a reality. What we need in America is sentences to be exactly what they are stated to be, so 10 years really is 10 years as in 3,650 days in jail, and life in jail is life as in never released while alive.

Death by means of being murdered or suicide....unless you live in California...then it's the country club FOREVER!!!!

Sadly, the appeals court overturns verdicts all the time...So Life doesn't really mean crap anymore...The sick twist is you can savagely rape, torture and kill a child and get less time than say the dude that shaved 30,000.00 off his taxes and got caught by the IRS...our legal sytem blows chunks!!!!!

there's always the death penalty. If you don't want LWOP then perhaps you can plea bargin, or cooperate as much as you possibly can.
