my story starts out in what any good urban legend starts (that's why i'm unsure):
i overheard a guy at work who said he heard it from another guy he knows & he mighta read it in the newspaper or something that you can copyright your name. & that a couple of criminals did such a thing. thus they were able to sue the judge that convicted them, & WON, because he had used thier names without thier permission.

so, is this true... or just something to laugh about & thing nothing more of?

They seem to think that by being dedicated to the company they are “bowing down to the man”.

I see my coworkers who are obviously conservatives paying attention to detail, taking responsibility and getting the job done.

The liberals here at work are more often than not lackadaisical and “laid back”.

In my business their mistakes cost our company money which in turn causes our customers to have to pay more for their premiums which is funny because if mistakes were reduced to a minimum our dental insurance would be much cheaper and liberals like to scream the loudest about affordable insurance!

In today's political landscape, the quote by Leon Festinger "A man with conviction is a hard man to change. Tell him you disagree and he turns away. Show him facts or figures and he questions your sources. Appeal to logic and he fails to see your point," could not be any more appropriate. Advertisers, Democrats, Republicans, corporations, the latter having become almost interchangeable with the two before it, are all telling us lies on a daily basis. I was going to be kind by calling them half-truths, exaggerations, or distortions, but I'd prefer not to mince words.
So what is truth?...

I was recently personally served with legal papers, Petition for Confirmation of Arbitration Award with a hearing date of August 8, 2007. This was from MBNA credit card, asking for $7,800. I owe them about $6,200. I would like to settle with them before judgment gets confirmed with the courthouse to avoid wage garnishments and liens. I am the major breadwinner of the household and would like to know if it is best to settle with them before the court date or to have judgment confirmed and then settle with them at that time. I wish to keep my financial issues private and not be known by my employer (I work in the legal field). A year and half ago, I signed up with a debt management company to assist me in consolidating and settling all of my outstanding debt. When I discussed the matter with them, they said that I should file an Answer, but the document is not a complaint, but a petition. What proper reply or opposition should I file while discussing settlement with MBNA? Thank u

Can you explain to me how the American company is suppose to stay in business when its employees would cost $70,000 a year and the Indian or Pakistani employees would cost $7,000 a year? Also that the American company would have to maintain offices at enormous costs and in those countries they wouldn't; and what happens when another company decides to hire the people in India or Pakistan for $7k a year and develops the same product for 1/10th the cost? How is the American company suppose to survive that?

I was told that I have to send a letter by certified mail to my creditors informing them that I have petitioned for a legal name change. Is there any required special format for this? Should I include a copy of the petition? How can I do this so that the judge is satisfied when I go to my hearing? The court is not allowed to give me any advice on this and I can't afford a lawyer soaAny help would be appreciated. :)

Why is it we can exercise our freedom of speech only as long as the police will allow us....then when they've had enough or some public official or politician gives them the order they remove you for disturbing the peace? Kind of like their on personal Gestapo.

Most of the cities that allow it, there seems to be no issue, but the DEA keeps raiding these places. It would be the same thing as raiding pharmacies to the people who are using this, and have people in need of their meds being told they can't because the store was raided?

Granted, there may be some that aren't that sick but the majority who went through the trouble of the paperwork should be left alone.

Who thinks that this is tied in to the drug industry?

We are literally destroying ourselves. Let me give you some examples:
* Crime rates through the roof
* Hard to get medical care
* Corporate corruption is stressing people to the max
* Attitudes have gone from somewhat nice to filled with hate
* We are declaring war on everybody
* Families are broken apart daily
* Sex offenders roam freely
* People only care about your money and not about you
* You don't get hired by your educational status PHD, doctorate but by if you know someone at the company
* everything sucks
* Food is making everyone sick
* Bush is leading this country into an un ending war
* Porn is everywhere

Anyone having fun yet? I'm not.
