It is legal for them to be arrested and charged; however, in most states it is illegal for the minor to be questioned without a parent or attorney present.

Ya. Some adults just hate teens. I was charged for something i didnt do without any (appropriate) adults. I find some adults will hate a teen if that teen paid for his gas. (hahaha)

The police certainly don't need a parent's permission to arrest a minor.
