In Washington state, there are not mandatory jury instructions. There are pattern book and the lawers pick each case which they choose to use.In my case they used different sets on the to convict,is this an appealable issue? In keeping with this,I was originaly charged with second degree theft,The jury was hung, six months later I was tried again, this time I was convicted. When the prosecuter filed the second charging document,She charged my with 1 st degree theft. The entire trial was based on 2 nd degree,no one else knew or was aware of the 1 st degree charging,The clerks office said if it is caught now ,the second Degree coviction will be concidered A typo, and the reacord would be changed to first degree coviction.Didn't the prosecution have A duty to prove all element of the charge? If so would this warrent reconcideration?

Senate Bill 1441 (sb 1441) stipulates that all financial assistance from the state to any program or organization is contingent upon that entity complying with the law's antidiscrimination code, be it a college, non-profit organization, or company that is funded by or receives assistance from the state. Violators of the law could be smacked with penalties ranging from the removal of state funding to the removal of city services, like fire and police.

my boyfriend and I rarely play loud music and don't ever have rowdy parties! She even went on to say, any more complaints and we'll be evicted! This is the first time in two years we've lived here that such a complaint has come up. Three nights earlier, someone had a rowdy party, WE even called authorities to see if something could be done to calm the situation.A second letter arrived the next day and this is puzzling. Is this a case of mistaken identity or are we being singled out? we can't help but feel a little harrassed! What should we do? Keeping quiet is like admitting guilt, at the same time we don't want to appear confrontational. Any ideas?

I am learning a lot from all these questions. There should be a way to network all those lawyers out there with people that want to learn about the law without going to law school. Ok, it is just a dream.

know that it was counterfeit???The bank admitted that they have a policy for cashing checks, that was not followed. All of the money was withdrawn from my Mom's account, they had to give her money back because I am only listed as an agent on her account. I live on a partial disability check and a parttime job..........I'm currently on medical leave from work due to a surgery in 2005. Isn't it illegal to take money from a Federal Government Workers Compensation Disability check??? My bank took all of the money I had left out of that check last month and it has taken all of it this month. A loan officer at the bank said he would give me $400 and he would give me two weeks to come up with more money, I gave him $1400 last week, that was all I had. I'm have medical testing next week for a follow-up surgery.

I'm completely at a loss here if anyone has legitimate serious advice. I live in Oklahoma

My wife is currently sueing a $12 billion dollar company on 7 counts stemming from sexuall harassment, whistle blowing, and wrongful termination. The company has agreed to settle in mediation, and we are looking for a number to take to our lawyer. I'm sure our lawyer will have a good idea of how much to expect, and we would like to have an idea before we go in and meet with our lawyer to see if we are in the same ball park or if what our lawyer thinks is high or low. Any thoughts would be very helpful, thanks.
