Not so much the end of the era. But it's almost comforting to know that corporations are as subject to corruption and greed and betrayal as many of the world's countries.

All goes in cycles. Just look at Exxon, Shell, Microsoft, Walmart, McDonalds and Pepsi! Those companies and many others are getting bigger and bigger. Banks keep merging, small mom and pop stores are disappearing, but small, high-end boutiques are popping up everywhere.....and how about good ol' Starbucks?

So, no...not by a long shot. And that is just in the U.S. With emerging asian markets, there is no foreseeable future for the downfall of big business...only growth potential. So invest now...capitalize on the movement.

the ones mentioned by you are not corporations. they are organizations created for special purposes. when the purpose is no more relevant, or is required to be re-stated, teh organisation has to catch up. this is a slow process. some waste and waywardness is invevitable. 'vatican becoming a cheap state' is not true. it is neigher cheap to live there, nor they have done something which they should not have done. religion looses some of its importance to man, when society generally become wealthy. the only exception - it appears - is islam. the latinos have, after about 30 years, shown that they are ready to work and establish stable societies. africa lags behind. may take a couple of hundred years.
