I stumbled across this video on youtube. It seems that maybe the vocal amnesty types that want to expose Americans as being ignorant to the Mexican's plight are really ignorant themselves.

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

True statement or not in your opinion?
How would you apply or not apply this to immigration?
Any examples would be welcome

I have been married for 7 yrs. with a U.S citizen; and I have been a lawful permanent resident since 2005.
Before I became a lawful permanent I had assylum status since 1997. should I file the N-400 now, or should I wait until 2008. I heard that the filing fee is going up. I need a good advise on this.

Thank you all.

I've lived in the U.S. since November 1999. I went to study abroad as part of an exchange program with my school from Sept 03 to June 04. I called the INS and they said that I can use the last 5 years as continuous residency as long as I provide proof that my parents lived in the U.S. while I was away for those 9months or that I did not abandon my resident status.
Does anyone have knowledge of that? What can I provide? I have tax return forms for my parents, some bank statements for me and them and utility bills that received (phone, electric...). I also have my financial aid and scholarship rewards for 2003-2004 and school transcripts.

Also can I go to someone at an INS office and show all the documents I have before I deposit them to make sure that they are sufficient?

Thank you.

Is it only when we go outside of the country or is just going anywhere? How much does it cost to get one, and do you believe the price of it should be reduced?

My brother is applying for his Permanent Resident Status from a marriage Visa.
He has asked that I send him a "witness affidavit" which basically is a notarized form written by me that explains their relationship in my words that they are married for the "right" reasons and that it's not a sham marriage for immigration purposes.

I need to know if anyone else has had to do this and if there is a standard form that is used?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hope someone here can help me with this one : ) I got married to a US citizen last september. My plan was to move to the USA, but I have to wait untill I have my visa, which may take some time. Since september I have tried to visit the USA, but was denied entry, due to not having the correct visa, and they came to the conclusion, that I may have overstayed. Since then I saw my husband in Barcelona, in febuary. I have become pregnant. My husband wants to be with me during my pregancy and birth, but we are both worried, he will be denied entry to the UK for the same reason as me ( no visa) Plus I can not work for health reasons, so I currently DONT qualify to apply for a visa for him. He does hold a US passport, but when he applied he did state he was married to a UK citizen. If he is denied entry because of this, does he have the legal right to visit his child, and be here. He does not wannt to ,move here, nor does he intend to come here to recieve benifits. He just wants to support me!

it was my sister's birthday n we had family over. my mom sent me n my 2 cousins to bring the cake back to the store to get "happy birthday" written on it. we went to the car n i told my cousin luis to hold the cake. we were driving n i heard a thump, but i didnt think nothing of it. then i was like, "luis u got the cake, rite?" he was like, "u never gave it to me." so we stopped the car n i get out, n i saw the cake all smashed up on the road. there was all these pigeons around it too. luis said to me, "u left it on top of the car!" so he ran back to my house, then my dad came out n he got all pissed off. he was like, "i paid for that cake!" my neighbor who saw the whole thing yelled, "I TRIED TO TELL U!" but i didnt see her telling me nothing. then luis came back out wit a plate n he was scaring the pigeons away n was like, "help me scoop it back up! its still good!" n he was trynna put the cake mush on the plate.

so i ruined my sister's birthday. how was ur weekend?

Recently, the Mexican Consulate in Dallas launched a know-your-rights campaign at day labor sites after a teenage worker at one site was picked up by a man pretending to be an employer and was subsequently turned over to immigration authorities. The Mexican diplomats want to explain to workers that federal minimum wage and occupational safety and health laws apply to everyone – regardless of status.

I know not unusual to have two passports, either from one country or two, but is it legal to have two passports under different names? It's not something I've considered for myself, but I know someone with this setup.
