Well when you go file for citizenship tell them and they can give you the right forms to fill out. But you need to have prove that your parent is a citizen.

Unfortunately, I think you are out of luck. The only documentation which would prove that one of your parents was a U.S. national would be a birth certificate. Unless that parent were still alive and could swear, in some way, that he or she were the parent and explain why they were not on the birth certificate. That would not be an easy thing to do.
It would seem, under the circumstances, that your position would be the same as any foreign national who wanted to emigrate to the US. First a visa, such as a green card, followed by years of residence, then application for citizenship.
Unless you are less than 18 years old, you would have to go through the same procedure even with a birth certificate showing an American parent. I am a native-born American and my wife is a naturalized American but our daughter, who was 20 at the time, had to go for a green card and permanent residence.
The only advantage of an American parent might be that instead of waiting your turn at the end of the line, your case would be bumped up the priority list and your waiting time would be reduced. That was the case with our daughter.

acablue's got it right, I'm afraid. We obviously don't know the details of your situation but if you look at the instructions for the application for a certificate of citizenship at http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/N-600.pdf or the information about the Child Citizenship Act Program (see link below) there are some strict criteria about getting citizenship for a minor. The biggest hurdle seems to be that your parent has not taken legal claim of you.
If you are under 18, you were born out of wedlock, and your mom naturalizes then you could be eligible, though. It may be a good idea to hit up a reputable immigration attorney...
Good luck with things...

DNA test is a great way to show they are your parents. You can then put them on your birth certificate. I would ask this to a Naturalization Office and find out what all you need to prove who your parents are. I am guessing your adopted. Now I put up a web site you need to look at and go from there and see how it works out for you.

You would need proof and not words. Something concrete.
