Tancredo Says Bank's Dangerous New Policy Could Facilitate Money for Would-BE Terrorists
(Washington, DC) – U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo (R-CO) today sent a letter to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff asking them to look into whether Bank of America’s decision to offer credit cards to customers who do not have Social Security numbers creates a dangerous loophole for would-be terrorists seeking to finance their efforts.

“After September 11th, we were told that money was the lifeblood of terrorists, and that we should do everything possible to block their access to financial resources,” said Tancredo. “Today we are hearing a far different message: Bank of America, it’s everywhere Terrorists wants to be.”

A front page story in Tuesday’s, February 13, 2007 Wall Street Journal profiled Bank of America’s ill advised effort. The paper wrote that the program is open to people who lack a Social Security number, while pointing out that the bulk of adults in the U.S. lacking a Social Security number are illegal immigrants.

In the letter, Tancredo also notes that Bank of America may be violating the law by offering these services as federal immigration laws makes it a crime for any person or entity to harbor, transport, conceal, aid or abet illegal aliens.

I tried to post this quesion last night & it never showed up but was deleted as a "violation." Let's see if I can rephrase it to make it more palatable. It's a valid quesion and I would love to hear some valid answers.
Ok, all of us are immigrants here unless we are 100% Native American yet I hear a lot of us complaining that the illegals are coming here & taking our jobs. If we truly stop & consider our own past I think we would realize it's just not true. History shows that the White immigrants came here, many without passports, visas & completely undocument & killed the Native Americans for their land. Once they acquired the land they decided they didn't want to work it themselves so they went to Africa to get slaves to work the land for them. They didn't want to do that menial labor. I would like to mention also that the people that were abducted to work as slaves arrived here completely undocumented with no background checks & no health checks. continued.....

Hello..
I am currently a permanent resident of Canada. I do have have my PRC, and residing Windsor, Ontario. I was originally born in Iraq, but have been residing Windsor for the past 20 months, after moving from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. My aunt lives in the states, and i have been thinking alot about visiting her regualarly. I recently heard that you can obtain a visa to the united States valid for 3 years to go in and out. I find that hard to believe but its going to be incredible if that was true, since i can visit my aunt atleast twice a month. Please Advice about the name of that visa and its requirments.

Thanking You

If a British man and a non-British woman were married in the UK for 6 years and had children, and the woman was born outside of the EU (and she had never applied for British citizenship) if they then got divorced, what would happen to the woman? Would she still have a legal right to be in the UK?

If she applied for citizenship after getting divorced, would this affect her application?

The current policy of the US government is to give citizenship to the children of illegal aliens based on what I believe is an incorrect interpretation of the 14th Amendment. Many illegal alien women come to this country and get free medical care, and then they apply for welfare for their child. If they are caught by ICE, they state that you can't deport me because my child is a US citizen! This really pisses me off. What is your opinion?

I live in a mixed community with a wide variety of immigrants, of which many of them have been here for most of their adult lives, yet you can't seem to have a conversation with them without them using the phrase 'Well, in my country', blah, blah, blah. I want to scream at them THIS IS YOUR COUNTRY, you live HERE. There is nothing wrong with a little pride in your heritage but if you want to wave the flag of another country, go back there and do it.

A food factory worker has been arrested on charges he sprinkled glass and other debris into Chinese vegetable dumplings. Albert Vidal Torres, of Ontario, pleaded not guilty Monday to federal charges of tampering with consumer products. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 40 years in federal prison. Prosecutors say Torres, 33, contaminated the wontons in 2003 during the manufacturing process at Golden Crown Foods in Industry. The company has since moved to Ontario. The dumplings were shipped to markets across the state. Golden Crown Foods discovered the contamination after customers complained about finding odd things in their wontons. In addition to glass, prosecutors believe Torres also contaminated the dumplings with seeds, pebbles and spit. Nobody was hurt, although the company was forced to recall and destroy nearly $23,000 worth of dumplings, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles.
