Sobering article that mentions not only the flexibility in the current funding bill regarding how that money is spent but a letter attached to Friday's Congressional Record saying California, Texas etc should have say in what sort of security they want for the border. Letting sanctuary cities decide if they need border fencing is like asking an alchoholic to decide if he's had enough.

One phrase from the article seems to sum it up:

"In this case, it also reflects political calculations by GOP strategists that voters do not mind the details, and that key players -- including the administration, local leaders and the Mexican government -- oppose a fence-only approach, analysts said."

Are they right?

Check the Mcallen monitor, Starr county is considering raising the taxes to help pay for illegal aliens who show up in labor. They can't pay the bill, they don't get medicaid, so the hospital eats it. Then the taxpayers do. What are your opinions on this?

I am speaking in terms of absolute loyalty (I swear allegience to the flag, statutes, laws... *you know the drill*), no "I am loyal to my new country but..." clauses.

As side questions, what does that make of certain immigrants who apparently prefer to fly their country of origin's flag instead of their new country's flag especially in seemingly "nationalist" demonstrations? And how about "illegal" immigrants? Where does their loyalties lie?

let me explain simple mathematics to u :

most white people have 1 or 2 children ( just like many latinos ) , since they have a low number of kids their possibilities of having someone to care for them is low and it goes lower if one of their kids dies .

therefor since this is how America is mostly , America needs others to fill the jobs which they are not giving birth to .

so what this means is that not matter what ur told America needs more immigrants and will need more in the future .

i also want to mention that immigrants need help too , so if u need help and so do they why not help each other instead of attacking the opposite side with lies .

An illegal rapes a child and uses his status as his defense...How do you justify that? Is he just another poor, poor soul who didn't know any better because he isn't American and doesn't know the laws against having sex with a minor? He claims he shouldn't be punished here because he isn't even a citizen...is it ok then for him to be illegal?

First immpressions are everything & what is the first thing these illegal invaders do. they illegally enter our country. Yet, if we say anything they call us racist. We are not racist, we are anti illegal immigration. If the illegals had more than a 2nd grade education they would be able to tell the difference between being RACIST or being ANTI ILLEGAL . Now there is something like 20-25 million illegals in this country, 70 percent from mexico. They are driving down wages for all Americans, bleeding the American tax payer to death, by making us pay for their health care, welfare, WIC, etc. Then top it off, they have a baby ( anchor baby ) here, because our laws say if your born here your legal..then the illegal parents don't have to leave. Once good paying jobs, are now low paying jobs.... Corporate America only cares about the money they make from the illegals. ..You see, any Red Blooded American that can read this..should be fighting made at the illegal immigrants. GO BACK HOME!

I think we all agree on the fact that some of them cross the border illegally and give birth to children, right?

So if they have their baby in a hospital, who exactly pays the bill? While most of them are poor and looking for work, I find it very hard to believe they pay the bill in cash, out of their own pocket. We're talking thousands of dollars. Someone is footing the bill. Who is it?

Are they receiving government assistance?

Mexico warns U.S. of referral to UN over border fencing plan

MEXICO CITY, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Mexican government on Wednesday warned that it may refer Washington's plan to build fences on the U.S.- Mexico border to the United Nations.

The U.S. plan to build about 1,125 km of new fencing along the U.S.- Mexico border was an "offense," Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Ernesto Derbez told a news briefing here.

When asked if the Mexican government would refer the issue to the United Nations, he said it was "examining with the foreign relations legal team what options are open at an international level, and we will take them."

He said the fences would hurt the bilateral relations. "Just the idea of a wall, a fence ... is an insult to good neighbors."

I dont know what I can do to show the illegals my support. Should i just say that I support them as long as i dont have to physically do anything or should i actually go and do something.

I love him with all my heart. We have been together for quite a while. I looked passed the fact that he was illegal, but now that I know more about what happens to illegal immigrants, I worry alot. And I am going to do whatever it takes to make him legal. Any advice?

I think that one day, the people of the USA will get so sick of all the illegals, that there will be large protests like the illegals had, except of course, the people that will be protesting will be all legal and have the right to protest. And when you look out at that group of protesters, you will see people from all walks of life, christians, muslims, hindus, pagans, rich, poor, black, white... And there will also be different groups, republicans,democrats, independent, anarchists, black panthers, nation of islam, KKK, nazis, gay and straight. We will all finally get so fed up that we will be able to stand side by side for the first time in unity and fight for our country without arguing and fighting with ourselves. I envision myself marching in D.C. with someone in the Klan, someone in the Panthers, and a christian behind and beside me, and none of us arguing. I, myself, am mixed, gay, wiccan, democrat, and middle class, but most importantly, a born citizen of the USA.

Protesters attacked Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minutemen, who was invited by a campus Republican group to speak there. These same pro-illegals that are DEMANDING civil rights, and DEMANDING that we recognize their self imposed, yet non existent rights have no respect for the basic right of an American to practice free speech!! How come Mexicans don't like Whites? It seems like they are welcome at our bars, but when you go to their bars, these people act like you're trying to deport them or something?
Which comes first: the low-paying, so-called jobs that Americans

Today she opened up and told me she is working with her cousions papers. Her cousion is married to an american and is taking her taxes etc in exchange for the identity. She feels like nothing. I see Jews, Asians and Persians making something of themselves and conducing safe, walkable communities. Of course they're not perfect, but I don't see high Jew-crime communities, either. I see these people sticking together and helping each other out instead of envying their own. Why can't Mexicans get their act together and promote the message behind the Christian billboards they have on their chests?
