Turn her in.

In reply to the poster who said you are not breaking any law by not turning her in, that is untrue, you ARE breaking the law if you know she is an illegal alien and you don't turn her in.

As far as her using her cousins social security number, THAT is a FELONY, for which she can be sent to federal prison for 25 years and fined $250,000.00, and then she will be deported when she gets out.
If you really ARE her friend you had better tell to her to stop using someone elses social security number IMMEDIATELY, it is a SERIOUS CRIME.
Her cousin is also guilty of a felony for letting her use the social security number, and she also can be arrested and put in federal prison for 25 years, and fined $250,000.00.

FIND A BETTER CLASS OF FRIENDS.

Many illegal immigrants are attending your public schools, and the schools are not reporting them: Why should you?

Public schools in the United States are required by the "No Child Left Behind" Act, initiated by Laura Bush and signed into law by her husband, George Bush, to admit "any and every" child into any public school in the United States, regardless of citizenship status. Federal and state funds received by public schools are based on daily average attendance. The more bodies schools can pack into their classrooms, the better off they are financially, and Federal and State Education Departments do not ask or require school districts to ask whether a student is "illegal" or "legal".

I'm sure your friend is a good person, with a wonderful child, trying to make a living; but, I am a good person, with wonderful children, trying to make a living. I resent anyone who comes to the United States illegally, reaping the benefits of "legal" citizens.

Legally, you are obligated to report your friend to the authorities. You and I know you won't. As a teacher, my superiors would find a way to terminate my contract if I expressed my true feelings and thoughts about "illegals" attending our public schools. Public education has, and will continue, to disintegrate because of the "No Child Left Behind" Act.

This Act will come up for review and renewal within the next two years. If you truly want to have an effect on illegal immigration, I urge you to demand your legislators to vote against renewal.

It is a matter on whether you believe in the law or not, or doing the right thing. I know it is really hard when it is someone you have come to trust and like, but she IS breaking the law. Not only did she break the law when she crossed the border, but she also broke the law when she decided to do identity theft. I know her cousin agreed to it, but it is still identity theft, and fraud. So, are you for breaking the law, felonies? Also, if you don't turn her in, you are aiding and abetting, people go to jail for that kind of thing, you yourself are becomming a criminal. I know the life she came from might not have been great, but she needs to think of the kind of example she is setting for her kid, that breaking the law and committing felonies are ok, are you ok with that?
Also, you stated that she pays her bills and all that, but she is still costing the USA more to live here than she contributes. She might be a good person, but she is still breaking the law, and should have come here legally, there is no excuse for it at all. You know the answer to your question, you just have to face it.

Mexico is no place to go for a single mom with a child, if she is paying her way,and she is already here, sending her back to fast could cause her and her child to be sold to the sex trade in Cancun, later only to be shark food, we say alot here about what to do about many things, but we should also be clear about the real things that can and do happen to people, can you live with that at night as you sleep in you safe warm home.

If you have to ask yahoo should you turn her in...then you are not really her friend...you just want people to know that you know an illegal alien...you are a kind of back-stabber and I mean that in the most gentlest way.

NO... u do not turn her in - wherever she is from obviously is not better than where she is. If she originally had a visa but overstayed it - tell her to go online and download form I-212 to get a visa waiver. If she was never legal at any point - leave her alone if she is your friend. If she is content and not hurting anyone by her actions - leave her alone. I guarantee her life here is far better than what it was or would be if she had to go back to her home country and beyond that - you would definitely lose your friend. There is no forgiveness in 'ratting someone out'. Let her live her life her way and you live yours your way. J

If you really want to help her, you'll let her know that you really think it is wrong that she is committing a felony to be here. Promise her that you will help her become legal any way you can but that she needs to stop using these deceptive methods, in the end it will probably hurt her, as well as her cousin, who could be deported for this.

Absolutely do NOT turn her in. She is trying to make a life for herself and shouldn't be punished because a lot of people go crazy with the concept of illegal alien. Our country is based on aliens coming here and working and making it a better place. You should support her.

Don't worry about it. There are between 12 and 20 million here nobody would come and get her even if you called. They would be nice to you pretend to take information and do nothing. Eventually things may change. I like most illegals i have met. I work in the construction industry.I just fear the huge numbers are costing the US a lot with overloaded schools, over stressed health care and our worn thin police force. I would like for us to orderly send them home and let companies who need the labor sponsor them and be responsible for their needs.

I'm sorry but, either we are a nation of laws or we are a nation of chaos.

She is breaking the law. What's to rationalize? Nothing...

I've worked as a Guardian ad Litem for druggies who had children...I watched them rationalize their behaviors, without fail....because they are always the exception. Illegals use the same illogical arguments and every one of the 20 to 30 million have the best reason for being here...

Illegals hurt America. If you want to help her, send her money after she's returned to her native, legal country...
