Why doesn't America just give incoming Mexicans green cards and tax the crap out of them the way it does me

There are reasons why every country that gives subsidized services limits how many poor immigrants can come. Even if they pay all taxes and aren't on welfare, poor people can't pay much in taxes. The rest of us pay for education, health care and other services for them and their families.

Unlike some countries, we still let some poor immigrants in. However, since each one is a net economic loss on our services, each one degrades education, health care or other services by just that bit. Multiply that by 12 to 20 million, and you can easily see why schools are failing and emergency rooms are closing in border states and other localities where illegals concentrate.

It isn't just money out of pocket, it is overcrowded, underfunded schools with huge influxes ESL students who are difficult and expensive to educate. Add to that the no child left behind act where all demographics need to progress regardless of special education needs like language, and you have extremely disproportionate spending of what funds there are on those ESL students. PE, languages, music and other programs we had here when I was a child now must be privately funded -for the entire school- by parent groups. Our children's upward mobility through education is part of the price of thier better life.

Even if they pay taxes.

Immigration needs to be limited to protect our services for our own people.

If your talking about illegal aliens they should not get anything, because they have not applied for the proper legal papers through the legal proper channels. They can become citizens of the United States of America through the proper channels. If you believe we should give Mexicans green cards at free will, we should give everyone else here and that wants to come here a green card. Think about who you would be giving a green card to. You would have to give one to everyone, including people that want to hurt all Americans. Other countries have strict rules about being in their county for a extended visit or becoming a citizen.

In order to give the incoming Mexicans green cards, someone has to identify the incoming Mexicans as they come in. If it were that easy, we wouldn't have so many illegal immigrants here in the first place.
