A lot of people are anti-immigrants in this country. I mean, yes, some of us are here causing trouble, and demanding things that this country shouldn't have to give us. But most of us are trying to make an honest living in this country, to have a better life, and to help out our family on other countries. We're hard workers, and honest people. Well, most of us are. They think that we're all the same, when we're really not. Like all caucasians being "white trash" or african-americans all being rappers, or gangsters. Not all of us are the stereotypes people make us out to be. Personally, I have a nice, big house, never inhabited before, nice custom made cars (mostly beemers) We have good honest jobs, I go to school.......... and we're still illegals. (well, I have a passport or visa. does that count?)
Our family doesn't riot, or demans certain rights. We're just honest, hard working people. In fact, a lot of us are. You just can't see past the other ones who give us a bad name.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - A man who implicated two friends in the 1975 murder that sent Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel to prison has invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, his attorney and a prosecutor told The Associated Press Thursday.

Gitano "Tony" Bryant declined to testify at his deposition last week in Miami and does not plan to testify at upcoming hearings on whether Skakel deserves a new trial, said Joel Denaro, his attorney.

"After advice of counsel, Mr. Bryant has exercised his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent," Denaro said. "We'll be taking the Fifth Amendment in any and all proceedings."

Bryant's move could complicate Skakel's efforts to win a new trial. Skakel is serving 20 years to life in prison after he was convicted in 2002 of bludgeoning neighbor Martha Moxley to death with a golf club when they were teenagers in wealthy Greenwich.

"What it strongly suggests to us is that Mr. Bryant's story is a fabrication and he is seeking to avoid testifying under oath for that reason," Prosecutor Jonathan Benedict said.

Skakel's attorneys plan to file a motion seeking to compel Bryant to testify, Benedict said. Calls seeking comment from Skakel's attorneys were not immediately returned.

Denaro would not comment on whether Bryant stands by his account.

Skakel, a nephew of Ethel Kennedy, is seeking a new trial based on a claim by Bryant that two of his friends may have killed Moxley. One of the men, Adolph Hasbrouck, earlier exercised his Fifth Amendment right. Skakel's attorneys identified the other as Burt Tinsley of Portland, Ore.

Neither of the identified men has returned repeated telephone calls. Hasbrouck's wife, who declined to give her name, said at the couple's home recently that the allegation was "a lie."

"He didn't do anything. My husband is a good man," she said.

Bryant attended private school with Skakel when they were teenagers. His allegation surfaced in 2003, a year after Skakel was convicted of killing Moxley in their gated neighborhood in Greenwich when they were both 15.

According to Skakel's attorneys, Bryant said he was with two friends from New York in that neighborhood the night Moxley was killed. According to court papers, Bryant said one friend had met Moxley and "wanted to go caveman on her," and that after he left them that night, they later told him, "We did what we had to do."

The petition for a new trial is separate from an appeal Skakel lost before the Connecticut Supreme Court earlier this year that argued, among other issues, that the five-year statute of limitations had expired when he was charged in 2000. Skakel's attorneys have taken that issue to the
U.S. Supreme Court.

Another illegal alien, suspected of being intoxicated, has been charged with vehicular homicide in the death of an 18-year-old Tennessee man.

Luis Oscar Garcia, 24, a Mexican who had been living in the U.S. without a green card for three years, was ordered held without bail this week on the vehicular homicide charge as well as driving under the influence.

The victim in the crash was James F. Rogers Jr. of North Jackson, Tenn.

A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 7, and it is likely Garcia, who speaks little English, will use a court-appointed attorney for his defense.

According to the Jackson Sun, Garcia's 1995 Chevy S-10 pickup ran a red light while traveling north on the U.S. 45 Bypass at Oil Well Road about 2 a.m. Saturday. He slammed into the '95 Honda Civic that Rogers was driving westbound on Oil Well.

Police said Garcia had a strong odor of alcohol on his person and that his pants were soaked with a liquid that indicated the presence of alcohol. There also were two beer bottles, one partially filled, in the truck at the time of the accident, police said.

In addition to the vehicular homicide and DUI charges, Garcia faces counts of driving without a license, registration or proof of insurance. When police did a check on his license plate, it did not come back under his name, the report said.

As WND reported, illegal aliens – mostly driving unregistered and uninsured and without valid licenses – are causing mayhem on America's highways.

While no one – in or out of government – tracks traffic accidents caused by illegal aliens, the statistical and anecdotal evidence suggests many of last year's 42,636 road deaths involved illegal aliens.

A report by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Study found 20 percent of fatal accidents involve at least one driver who lacks a valid license. In California, another study showed that those who have never held a valid license are about five times more likely to be involved in a fatal road accident than licensed drivers.

Statistically, that makes them an even greater danger on the road than drivers whose licenses have been suspended or revoked – and nearly as dangerous as drunk drivers.

In addition, the states with the most illegal aliens also have the most unlicensed drivers. Those states are also in the lead for the most hit-and-run accidents, according to reports issued by the Fatality Analysis Reporting System and the Pew Hispanic Center. California ranks at the top with 24.1 percent of the known 11.1 million illegal aliens.

From NBC 4 News:

LOS ANGELES — Do you think pregnant women who come to the United States illegally to have their babies should be allowed to stay in the country? Well members of the National Alliance for Immigrants’ Rights said Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Just in case you missed that, let me repeat it with emphasis added, “Pregnant women who come to the United States illegally to have their babies should be allowed to stay in the country”.

This group is not talking about women who get pregnant once they are here or even women that somehow ‘accidentally’ give birth while here illegally.

Uh, no.

They are saying that women who come to our nation illegally for the sole purpose of giving birth to an American child should be given an automatic free pass to citizenship.

This is the most utterly stupid thing I have read on this issue thus far. It is not only idiotic for this group to even utter that statement but it is also the most sexist, demeaning, and discriminatory thing I have ever heard.

So, it all comes down to the fact that if a woman can get herself pregnant, she can get a free pass.

Doesn’t this smack of the practices of the old slave masters to multiply their workforce? And where are the women’s rights activists that are always screaming that women are being demeaned? This is not considered demeaning to women?

So, you want to be an American? Ok honey, if you’ll just spread your legs and pop out a kid, you get to stay! Wooohoooo!

This is the third world logic that is falling down around our ears, people.

Alliance members said they were motivated by the case of Elvira Arellano, a Chicago woman who is staying at her local church to avoid deportation. Arellano is in the country illegally but has a 7-year-old son who is an American citizen.

These people will stop at nothing. They will use anything and anyone - even a helpless little child - to shield themselves from their crimes against our laws. Using children as human shields is a tactic of terrorists, not mothers.

Do you know the process they will be going through?, I have heard that is better to do it outside the us and then the us citizen can request a "waiver". But I believe about 5 years ago The border patrol caught him and they took fingerprints.
Do you know if the INS looks for information on the Border Patrol database? And besides all that, do you know how much are the fees? any help would be deeply appreciated, thank you .

Why is it that blacks want to be called "African American"? My heritage is European descent, but I don't want to be called "European American". I am an American - end of story. So what I don't understand is are blacks African or American? I am not a racist, just curious. If you want to be treated equal (which you should) why not drop the "African American" and just be an American?

Mexicans are most often referred to when the subject of illegal immigrations cimes up. Without looking it up, what percentage of illegal aliens do you think come from Mexico?

2006-08-31 05:51:03 · 15 answers · asked by Anonymous

So we "need" imigrants because we natives are too "proud" to work in factories, pubs, McDonalds, as care assistants, cleaners etc.

I'm a native Briton with a University degree. I have done pub work, waitressing, cleaning and shop work when I needed to and there was nothing else.

My BF is trained mechanic as due to a shortage of jobs in the field is working as a barman on minimum wage.

I know LOADS of native Britons who are hospital cleaners, van drivers, bar staff, care assistants, work in MaccyD's etc. Most of them would prefer to earn £150-£200 a week in this way than scrape by on £59.50 dole a week.

Plus they stop your dole if you "refuse" work.

Any other "natives" who have done this kind of work? I know I can't be alone!!!

A custodian at Saguaro High School accused of raping a 14-year-old girl on the Scottsdale campus is an illegal immigrant from Mexico and shouldn’t have been eligible to work in the United States, an immigration official said Wednesday.Russell Ahr, a spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said the paperwork that Roberto Lemus-Retana provided to ABM Janitorial Services, the company that contracts with the Scottsdale Unified School District, is counterfeit.Or, there is a possibility Lemus-Retana was using someone else’s name and Social Security number, Ahr said.
Since the incident, the district has run its own background check on Lemus-Retana’s Social Security number, and asked Scottsdale police to do the same, Peterson said. But neither the district’s nor the police’s background check indicated he was in the country illegally, Peterson said.
Lemus-Retana had been arrested in Mohave County on suspicion of driving under the influence May 14, and supplied a driver’s license at the time. He was removed by U.S. Border Patrol agents four days later from that county’s jail to be returned to Mexico, Ahr said. The ICE spokesman could not confirm that Lemus-Retana left the United States.

Lemus-Retana didn’t have a Social Security number and was not a U.S. citizen when he was arrested May 14, and he shouldn’t have had a valid one when he was hired by ABM, Ahr said. “Anyone can go into a swap market and get certified documents,” Ahr said. “Someone gave him a Social Security number, loaned him one, he made one up or he went to the flea market and bought one.”

I have asked, and answered some pretty screwed up questions on this website, especially one concerning immigration .. (and boy they dont like it if you disagree with the anti immigration league, there is a little klan of them)
And it seems to me that some people are hell bent on hating.. I have tried to put it more eloquently in the past, but failed .. so now i will ask .. why do you hate? what do you get from it? Can you not see that if you are Racist, sexsits, ageist, that its not a matter of people not agreeing with your decent thoughts, it is people not accepting unacceptable behaviour, and I am sorry but constant rantings about immigrants and how bad they are, do wind me up, and the anti klan - they can give it .. they sure can not take it... !!
I am to take the advice of many/most of you , and ignore them.. but I kinda wanna play with them.. but I am wrong arent I ? arguing and winding them up might make them feel silly, but that makes them attack and not change or think
