It's because they feel inferior and overwhelmed and are trying to prove they don't by having an aggressive attitude. That Latin aggression is one of the hallmarks of the descendants of Spain. Most of them don't stop to think that it's that attitude that conquered the Native Americans in their part of the world and that most Mexicans are more Native American than European. What they are doing is taking on the attitudes of the conqueror.

That is just like many Americans are not very full of American Pride until something tragic happens.

Different nationalities go to different countries and want to show where they are from, especially when coming to America: because America likes to give jobs, homes and money to the people coming over, yet will do nothing to help the poor born American white guy who lost his job and family and is now sitting on the side of the street somewhere or in an alley digging through trash for any scrapes of food he can find, all because the big corporation he was working for decided that they wanted to save some money so they outsourced his department to some other country, whether it be India, China, Mexico, anywhere but here. All to make them richer!

And isn't it something how American government does nothing to help him, yet will give everything that a person would need to come here and have a successful life.

They do have pride in their county when they are both in it and out of it. The reason why they display more pride when in the USA is because of the simple fact that they are in a diffrent country, and would like to make their existance known and recognised. What is the use of displaying pride if they are surrouded by many who display equal of greater pride? Like you said, it is like an eric clapton concert, if i would have gone to one, i woudlent have screamed "eric clapton is the greatest blah blah blah" why? because i would be surrouded with those of equal opinion, it would be pointless, everyone around you already know what you think otherwise you wouldent have come to the concert.

Good question!

The US is the only nation I know off that constantly reminds it's citizenry of their United Statesian status. I have traveled extensively through America from Argentina to Canada nowhere have I seen the amount of propaganda directed at the general population reminding them they are ARGENTINIANS or BOLIVIANS or CANADIANS this is the only country that states 'A United Statesian revolution!' in every commercial from Mc Donald's to GM every commercial says 'Under the great United Statesian flag' people carry the flag on their clothes, on their cars, van or trucks, it is plastered on websites it is EVERYWHERE.

That is something that is not natural for most of the 887 million Americans alive today, but it comes as second nature to United Statesians. When these Americans come to the States and are bombarded with this treatment it is only natural for them to develop a similar sense, lest they become 'from nowhere'. Once they've developed a patriotic sense similar to the United Statesian they are constantly exposed to you can see it expressed here, BUT if you go to their homeland you don't see it there because everywhere else people are just that people. It is only in the States that people are first UNITED STATESIANS then people.

What you see in them while in the US is simply a reflection of us.

When people leave their country, they get homesick and they want to show that they come from talented proud people in their new home.
I am a German Ameican and I proudly wear my German soccer t shirt during the world cup. I would die for the USA, but not Germany. Its an ethnic pride thing.
I will even give you another example within our own country. I moved from Chicago to Florida several years ago, I proudly wear my Bears and White Sox shirts. People down here show that they are proud of the city and or state they came from. Kind of similar in the same way.
I am against ILLEGAL immigration. But it doesn't bother me that they are still proud of Mexico, Guatamala, or whatever.

I in no way if i will help it say the place interior the worldwide I come from or what my genetic history is, I in simple terms have not got faith you're your genes or your u . s . a . yet rather an unique person that has the main appropriate to exist. invoice Hicks summed it up nicely for me whilst he mentioned "It became a around worldwide final time a checked". human beings's delight of their roots might nicely be an excellent stress or a damaging stress. the common reason for our might desire to p.c. out with our kin is that as a herd animal we want individuals to help us sense safeguard and we are able to basically sense safeguard with people who don't undertaking us on any point.

You're mistaken...how long were you in Mexico, and are you fluent in Spanish? Mexicans have a strong nationalism, always have and always will. At almost every formal celebration someone will come out singing about their "linda patria." They also refer to their friends as "paisanos," meaning their own country-men. Mexicans are more sentimental about their country, reflected in the saying, "A country like Mexico, there are not two."

Us Latinos have a pride you can't imagine in our out of our country:

We know who we are and where we come from.

We have excellent craftspeople.

We go MAD CRAZY when our team gets into a competition. If Colombia was in the FIFA this year, ALL my relatives and I would have FLOWN to Germany... and we have a BIG family!

We keep in touch with our families, not like most Americans, who dump their kids out the second they turn 18.

We COOK our country's food! My mother once babysat a kid who asked her: "Why do you cook?" She said "Because my family and I have to eat. Don't your parents cook?" The sad thing is, he said: "No, because my mommy isn't a babysitter."

OVERALL LATINOS ARE ALWAYS REPRINTIN!

Look to what OldArmySGT said! That's a smart guy! A typical United-Statesian-brain-less-retard-that-knows-nothing-that-is-happening-outside-his-*******-country. Today Cuba is the only non-democratic country in Latin America.

2) United Statesians like to say that they are proud of their country, but when it comes to defend their nation in a sport competition they prefer to stay in home because they will get no money like the basketball players and the tennis player in Davis Cup. For united statesians: first the money, secondly the nation. I remenber great basketball Brazilian player Oscar Schmidt that refused to play in NBA because it would means not play for Brazilian team.

3) President Bush himself adores to say how he loves USA, but when its time to go to Vietnam... Run Away!!

4) Ultra-nationalism is a stupid thing. I am not very nationalist myself, but when I come to yahoo! answers in english I get very nationalist because I hear so much stupid thing from united-statesians specially about Latin-Americans that I get very, very angry and proud of beeing Brazilian, not united-statesian.

All people are the same way. Americans aren't usually very patriotic (except in exceptional situations such as after 9/11) but when we travel to different countries we're different than the typical citizens and we like to broadcast that.

Everyone likes being unique and different. It makes them feel good.
