Are we the only country that equates the words native with brown skin? Doesn't the word native mean that one was born here? Why do we refer to Indians as native, but not everyone else that was born here? I'm in favor of changing the meaning of the term Native American to mean any one who was born here. How about you?

What's the difference between a citizen of the US breaking into a home and stealing to feed their family and an illegal breaking into our country to feed their family? If someone broke into your home and stole from you, to feed their family, would you want them to be punished for the crime? Why not the illegals breaking into our country and stealing our resourses and our jobs, shouldn't they be punished for their crime?

I would say to the man breaking into my house, if he gave me the "to feed my family" story, that there are other ways to get food, money, etc. He was probably just to lazy to do it. To the illegal I would say the same thing. There is another way to feed your family, you are just too lazy to go through the motions. Be it legal entry or working to reform their own country.

Plenty of questions in this one, don't give me that crap about "so what's the question?"

I just wonder if anyone else has noticed allot of questions being posted that are repeat questions on racism, or are questions that have nothing to do with immigration.
Could this be a way to push the real questions down to the bottom of the page, to keep people from seeing, and answering them?

I've read a lot of questions and statements on this board, and people sometimes say things like 'white people' etc etc etc, not worth repeating...I'm really curious to know if people believe that the immigration issue is race-related. I don't want a country full of illegal immigrants, russian, mexican, andeluvian, I really don't care.
But, what's YOUR view?

What factor, more than anything else, is causing problems in america in regards to illegal immigration?

2006-07-08 09:33:39 · 27 answers · asked by gokart121 6

This is a simple YES or NO or MAYBE question.

As for me, I get the distinct impression that many, but not all, of them are. Whenever someone posts anything about illegal aliens and the upholding and enforcing of the law, even though there is NO mention of nationality, race, color, religion, etc., it seems like they are their supporters, are the only ones who instantly go into this mode where the start accusing the person of being a racist and bigot. In addition they start in their name calling, FU's, reporting and complaining about VERY valid questions, and many other things.

I don't care where anyone is from. If they are here illegally then they are breaking the law and need to be kicked out.

Any news of what has been discussed or is occurring in the La Raza meetings this weekend? I consider this group highly "dangerous" to our American way of life because of what they espouse. They are very much like the American Natzi party in their agendas, except the toil for the benefit of Latinos. Tell what you know and how you feel (...should you feel free enough to do so?)

How would you feel about having a national ID card?
There are lots of good reasons, even outside of immigration issues for an ID card. I.e. Lots of older American's are having a hard time getting Medicaid cuz they are so old they don't have many docs like Passports, birth certificates, etc to prove who they are.
Face it, "the terrorists" or their threat, have won some ground here in the US. We are nearly strip searched every time when we board a commercial airliner. Our bags are searched, our bodies xrayed etc. We are not as free as we used to be and this is due to in part, terrorism.
Isn't it time for a national ID and data bank if we wish to protect our country, our borders, our education and social healthcare sytems, our freedoms and our tax dollars at work for our best interests?

Illegal immigrants that come to the US, will not be simpley deported, they will but to work aquarries, breaking down limestone into bicks, the bricks will be transported to the mexican boarder where the prisoners will then stack and anchor them togeather to form a huge stone wall. After their first tour from the quarries to the boarder they will then be free to go back home...

Does this sound like a fair plan ?

This way the problem can also be the solution, and alot more humane then just killing them like alot of others want to do.

how do you feel about changing the national anthem in another language. im not american, but im not one of them either -- and i am against it. i think immigrants are considered guests here, and therefore they should be the ones to adjust and work around the culture, and not the country working around them. i don't know why a lot of people are fighting for this. the people from my country are keeping a low profile in this country, we know better not to cross any boundaries. i just wonder why other people don't think like this... it's as if they want to take the whole country and make it their own. what do you think?

Martin Lutharking only workedfor the advacement of blacks, he neverdid anything forthe hispanics beingforced to enter the U.Sin order to work .... Why do you cherish him as a human rights leader , when he never lifted a finger to help the Mexicans ?

The hispanics have always been the real victims, blacks were brought here by boats, why were they not forced to swim from Africa, we are forced to walk from Mexico .

I got married to a US citizen 3 years ago and am about to file a petition to remove conditions of residence. I have papers like birth certificate of our child, joint bank account statement, joint car loan. My question is: do I need affidavits from 2 people as evidence of relationship to support my petition? Do you have any experience with this? Thanks

I need to get to the official US Immigration web site to print out a copy of an application for citizenship. Can I ever print one out? I co-worker has asked me if I could do this, but I'm not sure if I even can. I don't even know where I can physically send him to find the proper paperwork.

The U.S. allows wasteful spending on bus services to take children to and from school, some children live with in a 2 mile radius of school zone. Would it not be better for the Americans to concontrait on getting transportation to the undocumented worker that are risking their lives crossing southern U.S. just to get to where they can work ?

when the immigration category continues to be the dumping ground for games, racist excuses, and continual despicable attitudes? Suffice it to say, that we are unable to have a tempered discussion in this forum. So much energy, such a low grade of it. Where's real America? Most of us have tv's and read newspapers. Why the playground tactics...I know don't come here. That's the mentality...

OK, we cannot get an agreement on this issue so the only fair and equitable answer would be a compromise that both sides hate!
1. seal the borders fro 2 years only citizens may leave or enter (pro crime hates it!)
2. give provisional status to ALL undocumented (ILLEGAL) aliens (ANTI CRIME HATES IT)
3. deport all illeglas who have ANY CRIMINAL RECORD, including parking tickets or littering fines(procrime hates it)
4. after all back taxes are paid, then residence established and a special green card issued and current illegals will be allowed to work (ANTI HATES)
5. employers are allowed to pay less than minimum to these 'new' residents as they claim they have been working for less anyway (PRO HATES)
6 no travel or money transfers out of country by new residents (pro)
7.new residents not allowed to own property/land for 5 yrs and after that they can apply for citizenship but if they do not apply and are granted deported (both sides hate it)
8 infraction above speeding-deportation!
