The hispanics have always been the real victims, blacks were brought here by boats, why were they not forced to swim from Africa, we are forced to walk from Mexico .

Martin Luther King actually fought for equality. You can't argue for equality AND the advancement of a particular ethnic group because the two would eventually be at odds.

Also, the influx of Hispanic immigrants didn't begin until the early 1980s, long after Martin Luther King was killed.

Martin Luther King and his march for equality for ALL helped to launch the Chicano movement in the 1970's. Or are you not familiar with that movement? Chicanos all over the United States marched and protested for equal rights in jobs, women's equality, and affirmative action. It helped to start a pride in our Latino/Mexican culture that is now obvious in many parts of the southwest. Most seen in murals and other artwork, Martin Luther King Jr. is in those murals because he was the starting point for all of this change.

It sounds more like you are angry with African Americans than anything else. Slavery was by no means an easy thing for anyone to be FORCED into, millions died, and it has been less than 60 years that everyone was seen as equal! Latinos were not always victims, if you had done your history you would know that they tortured, maimed, killed, massacred, and put into slavery the native people here before the Americans. It has only been in the past 75-90 years that immigration has truly been seen as an issue. Yes, immigrants need our help now, but do not discard MLK Jr. as a blip on the screen. He's one of the main reasons you can talk so badly about him.

Martin Luther King wanted equality for every man. He represented the black population and everyone who wasn't treated equal. He died b/c of what he believed he is more than a human rights leader he was a man of God and whether you realize it or not he has done alot for all Americans with different backgrounds, but like you people won't give him credit. So, now blacks are racist. You are just too much. Black people helped build this country. They built the Washington Monument, the White House, the Capitol Building, were instrumental in early farming and fishing techniques. Blacks were forced to do all these things and more, with brutal force if they did not. Their lives were lived at the whims of their masters, how dare you compare their struggle to a bunch of people who broke the law to get here. Martin Luther King wanted ALL people to live side by side as one world without regard to color, and this includes Mexican people.

Actually, that's not true. The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Supported Cesar Chavez's immigrant rights movement, which specifically was for Mexican migrant workers.

Dr. King was about empowerment through nonviolence for all.
