Immigration - July 2006

The new law states that you cannot rent or hire illegals. It also says that everything written inthe city has to be in English. My belief is that this is unconstituional 100%. Under the constitution we have freedom of speech and our property is protected. We decide who we rent to or not its our property. Many argue that this will bring lots of discrimination. what do you think?

so!!! "In this Central Florida city, a city ordinance would prohibit companies from getting business permits, if they hired OR helped illegal aliens, within the past FIVE years!!! Walmart paid a record $11 MILLION fine last year, in a settlement with Homeland Security, over hiring of illegals!! The mayor, said the "city's immigration relief act",was modeled on a similar law from Hazelton,Pa. The mayor said,"I think new businesses and existing businesses, need to know from this point forward, that if they hire an ILLEGAL alien, there WILL be consequinces".

WOO HOOO!!! Chalk one up,for the GOOD GUYS!!!!

First go back to school, and learn how to spell and phrase. what biatches, who lives of -my bad-and yours ( commitee) Correct spelling Committee has two T's not one.sky rise two words not one. xoxo check your own spelling before you criticize everybody else.
And your assement is so way off base. Show me the facts it's only illegal aliens who clean zhit pipes, picking up the garbage in a truck, cleaning windows in sky rise building, or being the custodian at a chemical company. Show me the poof your only rehasing what you been lead to believe your not saying anything new or different. Show me the actual facts then make your comments. But I guess I'll have just have to be patient. All we want is the truth --- just give us some truth now. Remember xoxo use spell checking.

I was wondering how cost effective it would be to replace my baby's diapers and my toilet paper with Mexican flags?

After all, American flags make good tinder as the Mexicans have found out, why shouldn't we use their flag in a more practical manner as well.

Also, should we petition the government to put soap in the Rio Grande? I figure as long as they're going to come over anyways, they might as well get a bath.

Here's another question; since people LOVE to lay blame on other folks, and not take responsibility for their own problems...

Should the US government be able to sue Mexico for the damage caused by the American Civil War?

After all, the straw that broke the camel's back was the decision as to whether the SW states would be slave or free... If Mexico hadn't rolled over and been spanked like a *****, and held onto it's territory, we wouldn't have had the Civil War!!!

We demand reparations!!

Ready for all you Socialists out there, wearing my asbestos undies!

Wondering what people think about the big battle about immigration thats going on right now. Do any of you know anyone who is here illegaly? I personally think its all pretty stupid. Most of the people who come here, at least hispanics, come here to make a better life for their families, not to cause problems.....??Comments???

In all our history, people have always been welcoming of foreigners. Well, for the most part, anyway. Should this welcome be conditional on the policy of their home country toward americans, kind of tit-for-tat, as it were? If your country's hostile to america, your people can't come to our country etc?

In Hazelton, Pennsylvania. One thousand dollar fine if you rent to one{per illegal} The mayor said the old folks in this town were prisoners in their own home long enough. The aliens were draining the public resources. The residents of the hispanic community were blamed for destroying the quality of life for the citizens,by over-burdening the public resources. This sounds like some sort of political trick. Can a whole community of hard working, hispanics be blamed for ruining an entire town?

Although I understand and agree, that it is probable that Most believers in Islam are not involved to this extent in their professed religion, I think It would be wise to deny more Islamics into the USA.
My reasons are the following:
1. Since the advent of the nation of Isreal, Islamic leaders have declared Jihad against the USA more than 100 times
2. The first attack on the WTC
3. The 9/11 attacks
4. Several other plots have been unearthed and thwarted
5. The unlawful (WE had a revolution so maybe it wasn't SO unlawful) overthrow of the Shaw of Iran
6. The taking of American hostages
7. The continued hostilities towards American ally, Isreal (couldn't Egypt or other Islamic country give a slice of THEIR dessert so the "palistinians" can have a 'home land'?
8. Precident : We booted others out when they came from a countries that declared WAR on us (Germany, Italy, Japan). It does not matter that those were Countries and not a religious based group, declared war is war!

Opinions?

It is a totally illogical argument and if they are using that kind of though then why doesn't Mexico give their land back to the MAYA, OLMEC, ZAPOTEC, MIXTEC, TOLTEC, and AZTEC tribes? Hell why don't we give the earth back to the cave men and dinosaurs? So please all of you people who hate the white man explain your selves

I thought that it was to resolve the legal situation with immigrants here already?
We need to place a moratorium on more immigrants coming in to the country until we get this under control first and resolve indigenous rights issues at hand.

The reason why I ask is because you hear all these politicians saying that if we had a guest worker program, Mexicans could work for a few years then take their money back to Mexico. PROBLEM IS: if the majority of Mexican laborers are already planting roots here in the U.S., what makes our politicians think that under a new Guest Worker Program those same Mexicans would return home. Yes there are some advantages because most of the illegal residents will be able to come out of the shadows and have their wages taxed properly so that they can contribute to social services. And what happens when it's time for those one or two million "guest workers" to go back home? This part of the proposed immigration bill doesn't seem like it would work and before we know it we'll be back to square one.

"The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a lie. There is no such thing as "cheap labor." Take, for example, an illegal Mexican who sneaks in here with his wife and five children. He takes a job for five or six dollars an hour. At that wage with six dependents he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free. He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent, food stamps, and free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care. His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school, and require bi-lingual teachers and books that taxpayers provide. He doesn't have to worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance. Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins, and printed material. He cannot be fired, harassed, or sued. He and his family receive the equivalent of $20 to $30 an hour in benefits, while working Americans are lucky to have $5 or $6 an hour left after paying their bills and his, and paying for increased crime, graffiti, and trash cleanup. Cheap labor? I don't think so!!

Let me start by saying, i agree that illegals should go through the correct process if they want to be in the US. Now, let's say that illegal immigration was not an issue, there were no illegals in the US, who would we blame crime, disease, poverty, unemployment and federal aid abuse on?

but they are delaying the process. He is a college student and hasn't ever had trouble with the law here or there. His mother and sister got theirs. Could this be delayed because of everything going on in the media, and the new laws they want to keep passing on immigration? He is from Guatemalla but his fauther was german so he has a "white" last name but looks totally hispanic could this be the problem. I am just so worried he will get his citizen ship rejected and have to go back in 2011. That is not a good country to live in, and hes going to school working so hard to make a good life. Is there anything I can do, put in a letter of recomendation? write to my congressman?

I agree, illegal immigrants should go through the correct process if they wanna be in the United States, i know my parents did. I also agree that people should learn english but not be forced to speak it. Now what i was wondering was this, when and if we succeed in deporting all illegal immigrants back to Africa, Europe, Latin America, Asia, Middle East, we are still gonna have diseases, crime, poverty, federal aid abuse, and unemployment. Who will be our target or scapegoat to blame these problems on when all illegals are gone?
