Walmart paid a record $11 MILLION fine last year, in a settlement with Homeland Security, over hiring of illegals!! The mayor, said the "city's immigration relief act",was modeled on a similar law from Hazelton,Pa. The mayor said,"I think new businesses and existing businesses, need to know from this point forward, that if they hire an ILLEGAL alien, there WILL be consequinces".

11 million is a drop in the bucket for wal-mart.The profits that Wal-Mart made from that "illegal" labor are probably 10 times that much. All they have to do is raise the price of bread by few cents and they could make up for it.Big corporations like Wal-Mart are what this country are all about, not me and you.Wal-Mart will soon be looked upon with a blind eye by"homeland security".Our govermnet and the elected officials do not care what "sealrborders" and "PANCHA" want. They want their OWN businesses to do well, and they will sell out every single one of us to get those profits.Just look at "Halliburton".There are many examples.

On a more personal note. Since when are bigots like you one of the "good guys".Just because you believe that what you stand for is what is "right" means that it's right? Please!

If you are talking about Avon Park, we do not even have a Walmart. The Walmart issue is a national cooperation issue, it has nothing to do w/ the immigration ordinance.
i am all for shipping immigrants back! but you have to look at both sides of the issue. Our major economy is agriculture. no white person would do that kind of labor for that low of salary. w/out the immigrants here our economy would be non existent. Don't just fix the problem, find a solution that would ultimately better good ole Avon Park!

Walmart is so big it has become its own government. As far as cheaper prices, I do much better buying at sales in the mall...Since Sam Walton died, the philosophy of American Made Only, went down the tubes.

I hope all the cities around the country model themselves after Hazelton. Every little victory adds up and this certainly has become war.

Again, if we unite with other Patriotic organizations, we will become more effective in our efforts to remove illegals and build the fence....

What's this about Walmart killing dogs for their coats? I didn't know about this one...

Walmart will not be stopped, hiring illegals is only one of the rotten things they do
I would advise everyone to read the book
How Wal-Mart is Destroying America (and the World) And What you Can Do About It by Bill Quinn

I am positive tht these rules will be struck down on a federal level (again usurping state's rights!).
The arguement that they are being illegaly (even thought a law was passed) restrained from trading (business).
they are bing punished for possible FUTURE acts (even thought the aws states it is due to past acts)
it is double jeopardy! they already received the legally prescribed punishment by the federal government, so states can no longer exact punishment on them (this is actually a good argument!)
It is after the fact (that is why they cannot revert Charlie Manson's death sentence) and that law could only apply to those that violated it after the law was past (AGAIN A GOOD ARGUMENT).
I am sure here are more tactics that will be employed, but I am not going to give it more thought.

I am happy the corporations and employers are finally doing something about illegal labor,or like I like to call it, Slave labor. Why is being paid under the table good? I like the point of the question. I am against Corporations because they are going to harm America in the end. Concerned American, not a bigot, redneck, racist, or any other pro illegal term. I will wear my pink shorts too.

So walmart hires illegal aliens and sells everything made in china. Just what ARE they doing for America? I no longer shop at Walmart due to their practices. I save money too.

We are talking about big business which always takes risks and just get wealthier from it. They are willing to face the consequences and in fact plan on it. When they are fined 11 million and they make 40 million, it is still a sucess to them. That now seems to be the american way. profit by any means necessary.

Not for past offenses, but for future ones, that's the minor change.

I think it's great - and many places in florida walmart is the biggest employer. If that doesn't tell you that most Americans there do jobs and that illegals aren't necessary to fill them I don't know what to tell you.

I will never understand Walmart..
You have to pass a urine screen ( drug test ) to make a little over minimum wage, but if you an illegal your hired on the spot, no questions asked...
Something is wrong in that picture!!!!
