Islamic "EXTREMISTS" lead the overthrow of a democratic government in Iran. Will it happen here?

Question

Although I understand and agree, that it is probable that Most believers in Islam are not involved to this extent in their professed religion, I think It would be wise to deny more Islamics into the USA.
My reasons are the following:
1. Since the advent of the nation of Isreal, Islamic leaders have declared Jihad against the USA more than 100 times
2. The first attack on the WTC
3. The 9/11 attacks
4. Several other plots have been unearthed and thwarted
5. The unlawful (WE had a revolution so maybe it wasn't SO unlawful) overthrow of the Shaw of Iran
6. The taking of American hostages
7. The continued hostilities towards American ally, Isreal (couldn't Egypt or other Islamic country give a slice of THEIR dessert so the "palistinians" can have a 'home land'?
8. Precident : We booted others out when they came from a countries that declared WAR on us (Germany, Italy, Japan). It does not matter that those were Countries and not a religious based group, declared war is war!

This stance is not base on any disagreement That exists with my preferred religion and Islam. Prior to the taking of American Hostages, I could not hav cared less if any Muslim came (legally) to my country
Since that time, the cowardly attacks on uninvolved civilians has never stopped!
The peace loving muslim's NEED to get their runaway 'leaders' under control and then we could have peace again and I would change my stance, based on proof of that peace!

WMCRITTER, Are you serious? Backgroud checks, on terrorists? who do we ask?

Ask Islamic run and terrorist backing governments if the sleeper agent they just sent is a bad guy?

and even if we could get an honest criminal background check, what we consider crime might not be a crime where they come from.

And thirdly, you cannot check backgrounds and find future intent of criminal terrorist actions!

I would say the oposite of Meridith L, considering that ACLU and the athiest have made it almost illegal to worship anything but the ACLU, I am sure they would protect us from muslim. considering they force theri beleifs on everyone.
rukidding I think you really need to re-examine your way of thinking. if we expell all the muslims, who is going to make the donuts, Slurpees and Subway Sandwiches and drive the Taxi's that smell like BO, curry, and Pine air fresheners.

We should refuse entry to them by default. All terrorist appear to be muslim. They say they are a piece loving religion yet they say anyone that is not muslim should die.

The buddist on the other hand, show they are a piece loving religion.

However before we expell the muslims, we need to expel the scientologists.

Will it happen here? No, I don't think the rest of us would allow it to happen here. Should we stop letting Islamics into the country? Sounds like a good idea to me. Should we "boot them out of the country?" Citizens- no; Non-citizens-maybe. But of course some will say that's not nice we shouldn't be so mean even if it means we're in danger....blah, blah, blah....

I completely understand your opinion but all wars are different in one way or another.
we need to quit chasing terrorists all over the world, secure our borders {strongly} and concentrate our efforts on catching the terrorists already inside our country.
as for outside our country,...Bin laden started this mess so we need to get back after him.
catch him, kill him, "git er done!!
as for your question, George bush is doing a fine job of over throwing our democracy without islams help.
he is eating away at our constitutional rights more everyday,...think about it.

we have interned people from countries we were at war with, and afterwords admitted it was wrong. it still is wrong. freedom has its drawbacks. we are not at war with a country, we are at war with terrorists. you seem to include all Muslims with terrorists, or you would not have a reason for not accepting anymore Muslims in the country. we will never discriminate immigrants based on religion. (separation). this country is not against Muslims, we are against terrorists. and we will never be overthrown.

There are 80 million+ registered gun owners in America, there will not be any overthrow here.

We should not discriminate arbitrarily by religion. We should do a more careful background check before letting them in, but we should not just refuse entry to all of them by default.

I think we should get rid of the christians, too. They're very belligerant, and have a disturbing tendancy to try to enforce their subjective beliefs through government.

I mean, hey, it makes just as much sense as banning muslims for the behavior of a minority of their believers..

no, i think it would be unamerican to hold individuals responsible for crimes they did not commit.

that is what liberty is. if you are afraid of freedom, live somewhere where it is not valued. we turned away jews trying to escape the holocaust during world war 2 because they were german and we were afraid. and they died in the camps because we were fearful of a group of dirty and tired refugees.

fear is always a good reason for every step toward tyranny. we are all responsible for ourselves ultimately, and we should be skeptical of the government's ability to guarantee our safety.
