This is a quote from Theodore Roosevelt, "In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people. Who agrees?

I asked that to make a point to my daughter who sits here with me, she wanted to know why everyone couldnt get along on this issue. Trust me by no means are we a racist family as my daughter will tell you. (She dosent like white boys and will be the first to tell you this) And I accept whomever she dates. But this illegal immigration issue will never be solved so why fight about it. About 75 percent of all the American population had grandparents or great grandparents that immigrated here for a better life. The only true American is the American Indian. And yes all men can beat and cheat but where Im from you see it more in the mexican population. When it comes to Politics and Religion no one will ever agree...but isnt that what makes America so grand?

Illegals compare our immigration laws to the holocaust. Does this analogy bother the jewish community ? If I was jewish, I would be offended.

Maybe this is what Americans are "scared of". By the time they do over populate us we'll long be out of resources anyway. Giving amnesty is a no win situation in so many ways it just can't happen!

I am trying to understand the ongoing debates about illegal immigrants and as a Green Card hoder and legal immigrant, this is just a mind-boggeling fact that seems highly illogical to me.

Why are the ones here who disagree with illegal aliens living in America considered Racist? This is a issue that will never be agreed upon, as we each have our own ideals on how it should be done. And if your a white person and you dont agree then Good God we are actomactily a bigot, racist. Is it so wrong to think anyone living in our Country should have to pay taxes? I mean not everyone uses them to cut their lawns or clean their homes, so it wouldnt be a great loss to me. Plus the crime that is in the neibhorhoods they live in. They live two and three families to a house to save money to send back to their country. They come here and make the money and then go back and live like kings I have known some who did that. Most of the men will have wives back there and come here and shack with women here and they are known beaters and cheaters. So are we really Racist to want what is best for our country?

...held a mass march in the U.S., flown the U.S. flag upside-down underneath the Mexican one, and given our police the finger? Whew, I remember how quick they were in Mexico to start chanting, "Osama, Osama..." at the visiting U.S. team during a soccer match, but how can they come to the U.S. and get away with this stuff?

BTW, I am not a racist. I welcome any person, from anywhere, who comes to America LEGALLY.

Who are ready able and willing to stand up for their Ancestoral homelands?
Why are the Southern Natives so hateful towards their "Northern cousins" ?
The old ones tell us that we are all related, so why do our relatives act in this manner? Do they fear us? Are they jealous of us? These are questions that I have.

Where do all you people get off by crying about Mexicans being illegal and not coming to this country legally and the right way, but then you turn and say sh*t like "lets just shoot em' all or shank em all." Someone in another question just said " oh I took a shot at one down the street but missed him, HA HA. When are you people going to get your sh*t straight??????? First you cry that your problem isn't racial, it's because they are illegal but you are ready and willing to commit crimes to get rid of them....

Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project, is considering a run for president in 2008 representing the Constitution Party.

Gilchrist has just returned from Florida where he met with the party's national committee.

"I'm just an average Joe citizen," Gilchrist told WND. "What we've proved is that an average Joe citizen can come out of nowhere and not only create the Minuteman Project, but can also run for president. I want to bring common sense and rule of law back into our national dialogue."

Chairman James Clymer told WorldNetDaily the party was excited about the possibility of Gilchrist as its marquis candidate.

take the law into your own hands and throw or scare the illegals out of our country? Do you feel so frustrated with our US government/large Industrialists that you would like to do harm to them and/or their businesses? What will you do, when our wimpy, corrupted American government passes a general amnesty bill to allow these illegals to stay yet again in our country? Where will it end? Will we stand here and take it? Or will the people actually do something about it?

I don't. It won't change anything. And I pay enough out of my paycheck. I want a decent livable income too. I'm not wealthy.
And my schools and taxes want more. And I have many American friends. I am an American Citizen. Follow the laws of this country or leave.
Many of us struggle just to live here now . And I have a right to say "Me First". I have paid into America plenty for a long time now. American needs to look out for those who belong here and how it affects us first.
Agee or Not agree?
