Protecting our border is our inherent right as a sovereign country.
It always seems like this question is always dodged by pro-immigration (illegal immigration, that is) activists. I have yet to hear a sensible response to this question.

My father was wrongly accused of a crime in 2000, he was a LEGAL alien of the U.S., but there is a law that states any person not a citizen of this country with a felony has to be deported. He was deported last year. My father is Portuguese.

Just because a woman stays with a man who beats her doesn't mean she likes it. It is scary and hard to get away. Some of you people are so upsetting. Not to mention the racists ones with something to say about everyone except the superior white male. Get over yourself. Grow a brain. Grow up. America is horrible because of people like you. You have nothing better to do than bash on something or someone you know nothing about.

"One of the saddest national failings on immigration issues is the contradiction in demanding that the North respect migrants' rights, which we are not capable of guaranteeing in the South," commission president Jose Luis Soberanes said.

The number of undocumented migrants detained in Mexico rose from 138,061 in 2002 to 240,269 last year. Forty-two percent were Guatemalan, 33 percent Honduran and most of the rest Salvadoran.

It seems some Mexican legislators are saying it is hard to ask the US to welcome illegal immigrants when their own laws are stricter on illegals than the House Bill.

No one seems to be saying that even legal immigrants can engage in political demonstrations still, though. Oh well.....

All these talk about illegals, rallies, stupid questions, and answers, deportations, and still nothing being done about illegal empoyers. How much money is it going to take for employers to stop hiring illegals?

I thought immigrants came to the U.S. to start a new life and become a part of this country. How is that possible if you still feel allegiance to another country?

The vast majority of Illegals work in construction!

Is this work that is unwanted by Americans?

The second largest is in restaurants.

Is this unwanted work?

I know that restaurant is the usual job for high school and college age young adults!

Then we have Hotels.
Unwanted?

Daycare (IN HOME) and that usually is more costly than day care centers!
unwanted?

Migrant farm work (now the SMLLEST section of identifiable employment for illegals)
Unwanted? wel NO! Illegals make up less than 1/2 of those workers, so who makes up the other 50+%?

Must be legal people so I guess that job is wanted too!

Any other lies, Mr. and Mrs. pro-crime?

When someone applies for residency, they have entered a LEGAL process. If they're rejected, there are some legal recourses, fair hearings and reviews. This is because they have a LEGAL status of PENDING!

Illegals do not have any legal status. They have no RIGHTS or standing that can be brought up in court.
The courts have held that no one can assert protections for another person.
This means that neither YOU nor the ACLU can file on your behalf and assert rights for you! And surely they cannot asserts non-existant rights!
If someone is under an order of deportation or was once legal and now are not, thiese people may have VERY limited rights within our due process.
Those that jumped the border and NEVR were legal, do NOT have any legal rights to claim due process.
there is no need and in fact nothing to be filed in any court in the land.
They can be caught and deported wihtout as much as a miranda warning!

So why the worries about the ACLU?

I read that there about 1million police officers in this country.
Even if that number was twice the correct figure, each officer could, in theory, just nab one illegal per month and in two years we would be relatively illegal free!

IT would take less, as MANY illegals live together, sharing rent or with co-workers or their families.
Many arrests would then net others!
It is not that hard folks!
