I always wondered why is this just limited to spanish only!! Why not include the rest of the people from different countries as well. Are is this just a sign that 99.9% of illegals are from Mexico. Every place I call is press 1 0r 2 even the American Government has this press 1 0r 2 bit. As long as America makes it easy on mexicans I can see why they are in no hurry to learn english the Government does all the work for them

Good point! I guess all it shows is that the people they're targeting with this marketing ploy (and that's what it is!) are less intelligent than those who speak English?

I would think they'd be outraged and insulted by being pandered to that way, but they apparently don't get it. As if they're too stupid to press the button to switch to is Spanish (essentially what you're saying is that Spanish is the default)! Weird, especially about the Bank of America!

It's all so pathetic. Our so-called "political correctness" will surely be the end of the USA as we know it. Buh-bye!!!

There are to many illegal aliens for them to learn English. That would take years to do. Business pander to them. Lets face it everyone needs to make a buck. Nothing is getting any cheaper. The way the states are handing out taxpayer money we all be paying more. Business is unfairly targeted by lawmakers all the time. Look at San Francisco, the government is trying to get them to pay for every ones health care. I bet they are all planing how to leave SF ASAP. Immigration is here to stay until the US government does something about it. Remember in November.

Do you know what an *** it makes you look like to complain about somethig that takes you a friggin milisecond to do?Exactly how much of a friggin inconvenience does it cause you to "press 1 for english"?
This is the kind of arrogance that I see in Americans that I openly type abut everday. You want everything to be easier for you ,screw everyone else.Thats nice.

In Arizona a few years ago they actually had to vote on a primary language, English or Spanish, if you can believe that. Verizon Wireless automated system speaks to you in Spanish first. I agree, it is getting out of hand. If something isn't done soon it's going to get ugly. Americans will get their fill of this crap hopefully soon.

I cant answer your question because I agree whole-heartedly. I seriouly hope that whole thing of making English our national language passes so that they HAVE to learn it. Its irritating to get passed up on jobs that I am PERFECT for because they need someone who is bi-lingual. Screw all that.

I don't think they're trying to change our lifestyles. I think they're just trying to keep in touch with their traditions. Companies are changing because they want to attract their business. People do business where they feel comfortable and provide good customer service.
