because websites like proenglish.org email millions of people and inform them via email when a vote is due and then gives us a simple format to follow if we wish to contact our senators and congressmen, via email, or in the case of the vote today, provided phone numbers to our senators. All you need to do is make the phone call, make your voice known. It's a great way to get your opinion across to your elected officials.
I say to you, dirty Harry Reid, I hope you take the remnants of this defeated bill that you proposed today and use it for what it is really useful, in your bathroom or litter box.
if you disagree, why do you think this abhorrent bill failed?

That's $1,0000,0000,000,000. We spend about $70 billion a year now. And yet just about any drug can be found within five miles of a typical neighborhood.

At what point do we open our eyes and say enough is enough and look for an alternative to this failed policy? What about giving personal autonomy back to American citizens?

That's what I've read. If so, then how is the next president going to appoint a new justice to the bench if they serve until they are either impeached or they step down? The reason I ask, is I keep hearing if Hillary is elected, she'll appoint a liberal activist judge, and if Guiliani is elected, he'll appoint a conservative constructionist judge. Considering they both win the nomination to their party that is. Unfortunately, wikipedia doesn't explain everything :)

OK I know back in 1915 the Ottoman empire (who ruled Turkey at the time) did kill a lot of Armenians and it probably was genocide. But the Ottoman empire was dissolved after the end of WW1. The government presently running Turkey is totally different.

What is next we pass a resolution condeming Germany for killing Jews or the Japanese for the Battan death march?

Why would they pass a resolution condemming something that happened nine decades ago, now? If it was that important to condem the act then shouldn't it have already been done? I know the Democrat party had to have known about it before now. I know they didn't just recieve a flash over-ride memo from the State Department informing them of what happened in 1915.

Is it any wonder Congress has an 11% approval rating.

My idea is with all of the resources and brain power in the Capitol shouldn't each of our elected "employees" have to submit their reports on how to solve issues such as:

Healthcare, Education, ...etc?

Instead of just showing up to work to vote on something that most of them haven't even read up on.

Then the President or an assistant choose the best submissions (maybe a mix of a few dem ideas and rep ideas), then have them work as team leaders to bring it into action.

Maybe I'm simple minded, but I feel our money is being wasted. Paying for a bunch of childish employees to stand around the lunch room bickering about who has the coolest lunchbox.

So why then do Democrats want to raise taxes at every turn. Do they not understand simple economics. Even Bill Clinton was not bad on taxes, and Arnold actually lowered taxes in California to curb the debt and it did wonders. Why then the stupid tax talks from the left........is it all about power, wealth distribution???
