I dont mean impeachment, because our Congress can't even pass a simple tax bill

The Far-Right preaches "Family Values" along with their preaching of protecting the "sanctity" of marriage. My question is, why don't they stand higher on these issues, which are related to their beliefs:

-Making marriage illegal for infertile persons?
-Ridding of Prenuptial Agreements?
-Heightening the requirements for, if not banning entirely, divorce?
-Preventing marriage to persons whom don't want to have children?

If they stand for "The American Family", shouldn't they stand for these issues too?

What do you think about the health bill that would cost 35 billion and give health coverage to so many? Should we back this or is Bush right about something (a first)?

Personally I think if we can spend the billions on the war (that is producing no effect) then we should spend a few billion on our kids (which is our future).

im looking into getting a job at either of those places. just wantet to know if anyone who worked there could give me some advice or information. i would be going in to either of those places as administrative support type of job. i am not in the military. i would work those positions as a civilian. im still young 28 on thanksgiving. i do not have any dependents.i have college credits but havnt graduated yet. i have had 8 years at least of administrative support experiences including an executive administrative asstitant and i work directly for the CEO of the company. thanks for your help!! feel free to email me if you need more info or for your suggestions!!

Here are the words of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment:
Section. 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

I say that this should be repealed and replaced. A new amendment should state that children of immigrants who are born in the U.S. are not born with the status of citizenship. And the new amendment would state, far more clearly, what state governments cannot do. The second sentence in Section 1 is far too vague.

I believe that constitutional law should provide a reasonably clear set of guidelines about what government can and cannot do.

It's not the war on "terror", nor is it Bill O'Reilly's imaginary war on Christmas. The real war being waged agressively right now by the Bush administration and the Republican party could be called the "War on America". They're fighting very hard for goals that make life much better for the 1000 or so richest families in America but also make life much, much worse for the bottom 80% or so. Wonder why the dollar is in the toilet? Do you have any idea how this is affecting you? Do you wonder why health care is so expensive? Do you know that the war in Iraq allows tax dollars to be funneled to the rich? Do you know that record deficits are financed by government bonds and that the interest on those bonds will be paid by funneling tax revenue away from important government programs and into the pockets of wealthy investors? Do you wonder why the price of oil is so high? I could go on and on. The Republicans have declared war on YOU. What are you going to do about it?

We need to target each of these people for removal from office the next time they come due for reelection...regardless of their party.


I find it outrageous what these people are trying to do.

The US Government knows that there are domestic and foreign based terrorist cells operating inside the USA, and they also should realize that the perfect means of communications between these terrorist cells could be the Internet, enabling these terrorists to be able to safely communicate with each other to formulate any plans they might be working on. Would you personally feel that it was against your Constitutional Rights if the US Government monitored ALL Internet traffic in the name of Homeland Security?

Effective communications in monitoring the Internet is a way in which to block terrorist cells from communicating with each other, since fax, telephone and snail mail can be also monitored by the Government, so by allowing the government to do this, we as American's will be able to successfully fight and defeat any terrorist group that is bent on harming innocent people with their tactics.

What is your take on this subject, and please, no children need to reply, thank you!

My family came to the "new world" on the Mayflower, so my family is one of the original immigrants. I am a military veteran and have always loved my country, but I am so sick of Bush's war tactics. He seems to have this chip on his shoulder and wants to take over the world. I think we're heading for WW III. I'm sick of the laws here allowing pedophiles and other violent criminals off with a slap on the wrist. I'm sick of living in the wealthiest country in the world, but if you aren't in near perfect health, you can't get health insurance. The middle class seem to becoming extinct - the rich seem to keep making it harder for the poor (I'm not poor by the way, but I see how it's getting harder for those who have nothing). I think this country has gone so downhill, I'm serious thinking about emmigrating to another country. Does anyone else share my views?

A) Do we really need to be spending that much?
B) Wouldn't people prefer it if the funds spent on war were allocated on research for the cure of diseases such as cancer and HIV?
If that money was used for this cause there would certainly be huge advancements in research for the cure of these diseases, unless of course there is a lack of brain power.
Please no answers of the kind "they are providing for our safety". I have had my personal liberties taken away from me by the government so I do not feel safe because of them, not because of "aggressors".
What do you guys think?

ok lets say Australia became a Republic and the model decided was an Elected President. What would the Election for president be like? would we see what we see in the US where you have like 20 candidates competing for only two nominations from each of the parties Liberal and Labor. and if we made an elected president but retained the position of Prime Minister how would the legislative elections be affected.

What steps should be taken by the GoI to make hindi one of the official UN Languages. We all know the numbers, history of hindi and its literature, including the various dialects but can there be a strategy or a phased out plan to make this happen.

Impressing too much on use of english coupled with looking down upon the use of hindi in day to day communication is one of the biggest reasons for the current status of hindi. hindi has in many ways become simply 'unacceptable' in international arena of politics, business, communication and financial transaction. only people who cannot speak english, generally converse in hindi. even in the government offices the culture has changed a lot, but for some files/ documents which continue to be in the earlier scripts.

The penetration of ICT through e-gov, computerization of records etc though currently observes the use of local language but the new generation is increasingly going away from it. though dainik jagaran still remains the newspaper with largest circulation, at more than 2.5 times the time of times of india circulation (best for english newspapers)

i think there should be nation wide activity in this direction to be led by the government, media education and other departments. there have been some initiatives but these could only fructify if supported by a wider audience. e.g. i saw an online petition which was signed by not even 10K indians across the globe. the petition was for making hindi an official UN Language.

there has been a very good initiative by some religious and spiritual group in Gujarat, which focusses on the use of hindi in elementary education. the books series by the name "learn with fun" basically focusses on use of hindi in mathematics.

there is a good article on most influential languages in the world and the method for calculating this influence. although this article doesn't support hindi very much but i believe the rating of hindi as a language based on these criteria must have changed a lot.

ok so my bf has taken a drug test and gotten a physical to get a new job, can they NOT hire him if they find he's not in the best of health??
hes not sick or anything but he has athsma and was sick when they called him to take the physical.they told him the insurance they are going to offer will be based on his health.
dont know if it matters but its a job for the county working in the fleet division
