A) Do we really need to be spending that much?
B) Wouldn't people prefer it if the funds spent on war were allocated on research for the cure of diseases such as cancer and HIV?
If that money was used for this cause there would certainly be huge advancements in research for the cure of these diseases, unless of course there is a lack of brain power.
Please no answers of the kind "they are providing for our safety". I have had my personal liberties taken away from me by the government so I do not feel safe because of them, not because of "aggressors".
What do you guys think?

Babe maybe you should be tad bit more cynical about what you hear and see and look at the bigger picture. The "war on terror" has been a complete failure, maybe because its reasons were completely wrong to begin with. Maybe ill-informed too. But you are missing the point. How much does this cost, only to destroy other peoples' lives when the funds could be used to save lives. It just isn't right.

i don't know the exact number but its up there.we're spending multibillions of dollars a year on the iraq war.bush just vetoed a bill for healthinsurance for 20million children.when he was running for his second term he promised to provide healthcare for children but vetoed this bill brought forth by house democrats.when republicans where in control of house bush veteod no bills that were brought forth by them but then he suddenly vetos a healthcare bill for children just because democrats drafted it up.yes we could be spending this money on hiv, cancer, the poor.but republicans don't believe in helping others, only if they're conservative and or it benefits them.As for the war on terror i thought the terrorist that attacked us were based in afgahnistan.so why did we off and go attack iraq?oh yeah because of wmd.we didn't find any in iraq but now iran is trying to aquire the knowledge to make wmds and north korea has already tested a weak nuclear bomb but of a nuclear bomb never the less so do we attack these countries 2?

the cost of the war so far has been about 2 trillion dollars.
invested that could give 100 billion a year which is enough to pay 12,000$ a year per student for college forever!

So called war? You don't believe terrorist are real? Where the hell were you on 911, or how about the London bombings, or the attack in Spain? Lockerbee ring any bells. I could fill this sight with the number of terrorist attacks we've put up with, so you need to take your so called brain and use it.

They probably spend more than they should. And probably there are better ways of spending the money. By saving lives instead of taking them for Pete's sake, I mean how f*u*c*k*i*n*g stupid are they? We are not idiots! We are not blind or deaf! We see the truth! We are not animals! We are humans and WILL fight for our rights to be upheld. No-one should take away my freedom. Give me life and love damn it, not death and hatred for God's sake!
