It's not the war on "terror", nor is it Bill O'Reilly's imaginary war on Christmas. The real war being waged agressively right now by the Bush administration and the Republican party could be called the "War on America". They're fighting very hard for goals that make life much better for the 1000 or so richest families in America but also make life much, much worse for the bottom 80% or so. Wonder why the dollar is in the toilet? Do you have any idea how this is affecting you? Do you wonder why health care is so expensive? Do you know that the war in Iraq allows tax dollars to be funneled to the rich? Do you know that record deficits are financed by government bonds and that the interest on those bonds will be paid by funneling tax revenue away from important government programs and into the pockets of wealthy investors? Do you wonder why the price of oil is so high? I could go on and on. The Republicans have declared war on YOU. What are you going to do about it?

Yes, the weak dollar aids exports to the detriment of everything else. Thank you for making one of my points for me Mr. I-can't-spell-the-word-"wrath"....

For those of you being helped by the War on America, do you think it's fair to advance yourselves at the expense of hurting other people? Can you really look at yourselves in the mirror every morning knowing that you are directly responsible for the suffering and misery of many, many other Americans? It doesn't have to be this way. You can still be fairly selfish without cutting off the legs of others...

You are partially correct. I say partially because you are pointing the finger at Republicans like they are the problem. Democrats are equally responsible. This is not a Republican vs. Democratic issue because these good old boys golf together on Sundays and are part of the SAME so-called secret societies.

You are also partially correct because you labeled it a war on America as if only America is paying the price for the actions of the US govt.

More accurately put: The western world is fighting a war against ALL HUMANITY.

What the fluck are you talking about?

Unemployment is at an all time low, housing reached the highest level in decades. minimum wage had changed for the first time in 20 years, government aid has been easier to get than ever before.. Jobs are every where, reaching the american dream is easier than before...

I dont know who's been feeding you their toilet crap- but my life has not gotten ANY harder or ANY worse over the past 7 years. I pay less in taxes, I get more rebates back, my local economy is better than it has been since the years of the baby boomers...

Maybe you should get out more.

There are no walls keeping you captive here. If you don't like living in the best country on the planet - you are free to go.

The was is not over the price of oil, but who will control it. A bidding war in a free market we could handle, but if Bin Laden gets control of it, he can control the economies of the world - not just the U.S.

Expand your news sources. If you confine your sources to broadcast news, CNN, etc., you will hear and see only one side of an issue. Do yourself a favor and watch FOXNEWS, particularly Brit Hume, 6:00pm EST. Every issue discussed by a democrat and a republican. Come to your own conclusion.

Sadly, the people who are most affected, the working poor have been brainwashed by the right wing media. They are actually voting against their own interests. The Repubs must be having a big laugh over pulling that off. They know how to confuse people with "moral issues" like gay marriage, abortion and religion to confuse them. Wake up, people. You are being cheated and lied to.
