because websites like proenglish.org email millions of people and inform them via email when a vote is due and then gives us a simple format to follow if we wish to contact our senators and congressmen, via email, or in the case of the vote today, provided phone numbers to our senators. All you need to do is make the phone call, make your voice known. It's a great way to get your opinion across to your elected officials.
I say to you, dirty Harry Reid, I hope you take the remnants of this defeated bill that you proposed today and use it for what it is really useful, in your bathroom or litter box.
if you disagree, why do you think this abhorrent bill failed?

The motion to bring the DREAM Act to the floor of the Senate for debate failed 52-44. It is dead in the water.

Look it here:
Reid(D):
Dream Act Will Give Young Americans (??) Opportunity To Pursue Education, Chance To Succeed.

David Vitter (R):
The DREAM Act would create a path to citizenship for people brought illegally to the United States by their parents as children or before they were the age of 16.

Does it answer your question???

I am looking for now,who voted how.
Will keep you posted.

I recommend everybody concerned about this issue get the book "Nobodies, Modern American Slave Labor and the Dark Side of the New global economy". While our politicians only want to concentrate on the effects that labor laws have on illegal immigrants, they are ignoring the larger issue, which is the abuse that employers are getting by with as the U.S. government ignores enforcement of immigration laws. The real criminals are the employers, and our government is refusing to do anything about these crimes.

In the mean time, our labor laws suffer tremendously, and our children are locked out of the labor market. Recently I worked for awhile at at Silicon Valley company, and everyone in the place was an immigrant, except for top level management. The jobs that used to go to high school grads were being given to newly arrived immigrants. These are the jobs in the past that allowed high school grads to break into the work place and develop a career. It's bad enough that our university systems are over crowded, turning away highly qualified students at record rates, but even our high school grads are getting locked out of the labor market, by being forced to compete with immigrants who will not stand up for their rights, and will do whatever to maintain their jobs. Not even the U.S. born children of immigrants were getting jobs in these places, and there are a lot of companies out there practicing this labor discrimination. Watch the movie "Fast Food Nation".

Young people born in the U.S. entering the labor market are the ones suffering the most. It amazes me how willing people are to abandon the next generation.

MR. Modern,
Where did you get your information, Micheal Moore. A Rasmusean, gallop, and numerous ofther polls show that 80% of american want to see illegals deported and are passionate about it. Also if a majority of american support you then why everytime that a bill comes up saying the it supports illegals, like the DREAM ACT. The swithcboards and fax mahcine get lighted up. Have some facts before saying that. We need to vote only for people that are aganist illegals.

It fails when we the people stand up. Such is the case for amnesty before the night mare act which is one and the same in part and piece's.
And when we the people of God speak out about siding with Turkey for denying Christ and his people in the genocide in favor of money and Islam under false lies of we need them by stating we are week yes in God we are. But we must win the war on Islam and not comprise with evil as so many are doing.

We the people we speak in the vote just as the DC boys do on both sides. many look at the events of today and see things in Revelations and you boys and so called girls in DC can not deflect this fact to many voters on the right.

It is about time that we spoke up. Websites like that are great help in letting us spank those in Washington who, for years, have done exactly the opposite of what we the people want.

No more illegals.
No amnesty.
No rewards for sneaking in.
No privileges for those here illegally.
English SHOULD be the national language.

EDIT: your WRONG mr morden. Americans overwhelmingly want the border SHUT DOWN first.

Politicians are importing voters and future voters. We have NO interest in illegals becoming permanent. Competition for schools, jobs and housing.

And they DO use social services. When one of them has a child here the parent then gets welfare.

It pisses me off knowing that my tax dollars are being spent on illegals. And they are. Our government and my tax dollars are subsidizing illegal immigration.

You're entitled to your opinion regarding the dream act but don't for one instant think that you speak for all Americans. In poll after poll the majority of Americans favor a path to legal status for illegal immigrants. As to why it didn't pass, this isn't the first time the congress failed to do the will of the people. Look at the recent failure of congress to override Bush's veto if the SCHIP bill, a bill that the vast majority of Americans wanted passed.

I actually have a tendency to be somewhat cynical approximately those issues. i think for Hillary Clinton that's a PR pass. some "electorate" will learn it and say, "She quite cares approximately us," and so as that they have got a tendency to think of that's yet another excuse to help her run for President. somewhat, a answer will basically be stumbled on while President, Representatives and Senators start up putting people and this u . s . a . forward of their needs to do despite it takes to get elected. no person person, whether President or congressman will remedy the wellbeing care disaster.

It failed because sufficient liberals got the message that their butts will be on the sidewalk if they look weak on immigration.
