Government - September 2007

....I'm no fan of George Bush (I admit that), however, I'm also tired of a Congress that seems unable to work together. All parties are to blame, but I wonder if the American people can do something to change this - like write letters or emails to government officials. What is your opinion - are the only times the voters can influence the government only at election times....or is there more we can do throughout every year to force changes? Thanks.

First off, I know lots of people think tax dollars are being "wasted" on public housing. Why doesn't the government have public office space, where people who actually have business ideas, but cannot afford to pay high rents to get going, can start and maintain a business for a short-term (6 months to a year) to help "poorer" people get a business going. This would be a more practical use of some of the housing money, since it would help the economy as well as pull some out of poverty. Good idea? discuss.

I like William Harry Harrison, because he died in thirty days after taking office...he didn't have time to screw up.

It said in the paper today that a Polish newspaper had printed on how to get benefits, houses etc over in Britain and said how easy it is. Are all other countries going to get hold of this and then start coming over too. Who thinks we should take a page out of the Australian book and start clamping down before we become a complete laughing stock around the entire world?

With so much information and news out now, we should all be more aware of the wars/ rumors of war. But let's think a minute: We were lied to about why we went to war, let alone the fact that there was not, according to the our Constitution, an official DECLARATION of WAR. Think, Congress did not declare war, Bush did; but Congress let him move forward. Now ask yourself why? (9/11) was a kickoff to the rumor of war.
The news we get on our basic TV stations is "news reporting" not real news. Want real news? Some of my sources: Mosiac.com, LinkTV.com as well as link TV on satellite, and Presstv.com

What the heck is the matter with Mr. Streisand, (James Brolin)? Is this the Liberal mentality? I thought we happily celebrated birth, marriage and wonderful things. What is wrong with this picture?

"...British bank rocked by panic withdrawals..."

Anxious customers of British bank Northern Rock rushed to withdraw their savings Friday, forming lengthy queues in front of branches after the lender was bailed out by the Bank of England.

Shares in Northern Rock, which issued a profits warning on Friday, plunged 31.46 percent to 438 pence at the close, dragging the European banking sector lower as investors fretted over potential difficulties elsewhere.

The Bank of England (BoE) on Friday came to the rescue of Britain's fifth-biggest home loan provider, which said it was facing severe difficulties raising cash to cover its liabilities amid the ongoing global credit squeeze.

Seems to me that people are upset because they want change and the right wing conservaturds are stopping the Democrats attempts at affecting those changes.

After comparing Hitlers Invasion of Poland, I noticed a similarity.
(I will let you draw your own opinions)

Following several German-staged incidents (Operation Himmler),
which gave German propaganda an excuse to claim that German forces were acting in self-defense,
the first regular act of war took place on September 1, 1939, at 04:40, when the German Air Force (Luftwaffe)
attacked the Polish town of Wieluń, destroying 75% of the city and killing close to 1,200 people,

The basic facts are that we need oil.
Iraq would be an allie. We keep Alqueda, aka "Terrorists" from controling the Oil supply.

Sure, we sacrifice soldiers, but so what, what else are they good for? There is plenty more at our disposal.

If gas prices are kept low and the economy rises, that is really all that matters.

So, support the war against Iraq. Your future is dependent on the war in Iraq.
