I know that the 3 branches of government are Legislative, Executive and Judicial, and the 3 levels are Federal, State, and Local. How does each branch/level play a role in our lives? I need examples..please and thank you!

What country are you in - it varies!

Try looking it up on Wikipedia - it will point you to other info.

Your best approach to learning about government is to start at your local level. Your town. or city has its own government organization of legislative (town ordinances), executive (town manager, board of selectment, aldermen, etc.) judicial (local court) and the police and/or sheriff's departments that enforce the rules of behavior (laws) established, hopefully, for the general good. Assuming that you are living in a democratic society such as the USA, then you may get more up-close information on the way things work by getting in touch with one of the people (there is bound to be one who wants to help you understand) who either works at the polling places or whose name is known as someone who speaks out on local issues. Don't be put off by one who has no patience, find one who loves to talk.

Once you understand how it works at that level, you can more easily grasp the broadening impact of the next higher, county or state (or parish level if you live in the southern USA) and so on.

It is unfortunate that even the civics classes in the high schools that have one seem to concentrate on teaching the general workings of the federal level of government instead of educating how the local level works since it is the one more likely to be immediately meaningful to the student.
