My friend, this is common knowledge among those that care. The sad fact is that most Americans want to be the good guys. They can't stand thinking that they were mislead. They can't fathom the fact that this war was built on lies. Even when confronted with truth, they would rather live in thier dream world.
All governments, especially failing democracies, always have outspoken skeptics that are ignored. Our country is in very sad shape. People would rather have security than freedom. There is no 'wake-up' call loud enough to rouse the average Joe from his cable T.V. and his mortgage payments. They are sheep. What can you do?

It's pretty clear that you have not paid any amount of attention. Instead, you patronize news sites that tell you what you wish to hear. And, it is also clear that you have never done anything for your country. What ever happened to the old democrats and the "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country?" crowd?
The only one's who've lied to date, are the Iraqi chemical engineer who defected and the current, sad lot of democrats who now claim the've been lied to. In that very act alone, they refuse to take ownership for what they have done. Instead, they choose to play the victim. Seems rather childish. They're the majority. They have the power, yet they do nothing to stop this war. Why? Still, they keep stringing you along. And you hang on their every word as though it were the Gospel. FOOL!

The war is about planting a democracy in the heart of the Middle East in order to act as a catalyst and spread freedom throughout the region. Once the region is free (i.e., has representative governments; republics instead of dictatorships or theocracies), then when they eventually develop WMD they will not arm terrorists and not be a significant threat.
As George Bush said, "The best way to fight terrorism is with ballot boxes."

Our soldiers are fighting because they were given commands and are doing there duty. I agree with the news we see is news fueled by the all mighty dollar, I've felt that way forever, we only see what sells, and will draw attention to make the money. Bush is proof for us Americans never to vote someone in that has no military experience. Our intentions were to hunt down Bin Laden and all behind 9/11, we sent soldiers over with no armor, no water, pretty much not enough of anything, and then it was like we are in Iraq, never to here about Bin Laden again.... what happen to the "wanted dead or alive" posters Bush held up so high? We don't and wont know the real truth. We here lies from Bush, we get the medias point of view and even are soldiers opinions are mixed...

Regardless of how we got into a war, from a professional military view, for our own security in the future, we must have veterans and a modernization of our weapons systems. Right now, because of the wars in the middle east, we have a military force that is proven in combat and now equipped with the tools that have been tested in the crucible of war. Veterans are a perishable commodity and if you want peace, prepare for war. Fear of the US military is a valuable tool for our diplomats.

Your soldiers are given the daunting task of seeing to it that Iraq attains some semblance of political stability before they depart. To abandon and leave that country the way it is now, would mean delivering a huge victory to those radicals that share Al Queda's beliefs. The way many Sunni Muslims around the world see the present situation in that nation , a new Shitte regime is now at liberty to butcher fellow Sunnis, all thanks to the ill-starred military intervention by the Americans. Your military's job is to put a permanent stop to this bloody sectarian killing. Good luck with that..

I don't trust the news sources of a twit who's so behind that he/she is only now starting to go through the whole "Why are we REALLY fighting this war?!" thing.

Because most of them signed up before the politicians ever decided to go murder Iraqis. And when you are in the military, you have to obey orders or you get court-martial ed. Stripped of your honors and your benefits and labeled as a criminal. NO MATTER WHO IS IN CHARGE.
General Courts-Martial. A general court-martial is the highest trial level in
military law and is usually used for the most serious offenses. It is composed of a military
judge sitting alone, or five members and a military judge.33 It can adjudge, within the
limits prescribed for each offense, a wide range of punishments to include confinement,
reprimand, forfeitures of up to all pay and allowances, reduction to the lowest enlisted
paygrade, punitive discharge (bad conduct discharge, dishonorable discharge or
dismissal), restriction, fines and, for certain offenses, death.34
