i think no, because in order to change the law(constitution), congress must proposed amendments to the constitution and it requires the approval of 38 states in order to make him president forever, which is highly unlikely because bush gradually loses support in congress

Calling George W Bush the ultimate president of our time is like me asserting Ted Kennedy does not drink,in the previous Bush, the worst president ever advance into Jimmy Carter, yet George W Bush is now the worst president ever, and Carter is 2d

Yes there is a little known plans called operation Cable Splicer and REX 84 which are portions of the New Homeland Security Inititative that does allow for this, if National security is Threatened or a time of NAtional Crisis (Like another terrorist attack) also Presidential Directive # 51

To all those citing the Constitution: Bush was already quoted as calling the COnstitution Outdated and even called it a "Goddamn Piece of Paper" so what makes you think that would stop him now. It didn't stop him from performing illegal wiretaps on US Citizens in violation of the COnstitution. I always cite Bush's violations of our systems of checks and balances, WHen He circumvented our Judicial system when issuing those wiretaps without a Judges review (against US Citizens)

No, laughing teddy
He doesn't have to "change" a damn thing !! His INSIDE on this one is already in place ---- it is called MARTIAL LAW and with it --- all Constitutional rights WILL BE SUSPENDED and all elections will be forgone --- and the thing is --- he will be FAR more powerful and in complete control than he EVER could have been under the regulations of a President !! He would be essentially The Dictator !! And, thing is ---- all he needs to do is ---- declare martial law --- that's it --- just for any reason that he wants to ---- declare martial law !!! They created THIS little DEAL by way of a number of "Executive Orders" put in place within the last two years !!! SO --- THINK HE'S INTENDING ON USING THAT POWER ?? THINK HE WOULD MISS THE OPPORTUNITY ??

Notice my use of the phrase "he WILL be" and that the Constitution "WILL be suspended" --- now, you know what I think is coming !!!

He would need to get a constitutional ammendment passed by congress...then he would need to sign it into law, and the supreme court would have to rule on wheter it is a constitutional change when the US revolts against such a crazy thing...I don't think he has enough clout to get something like that done.

the other branches of government are there to keep him in check, but he is the one who appoints supreme court justices (which ultimately determine the legality of a law). but the supreme court justices have to be approved by congress (which make the laws)... right now, there is a law that says that presidents can only serve two terms, but with enough support from congress and the supreme court, he could get that overturned.

first, he would have to get 2/3 of congress on his side. with them on his side, he can hope that some of the supreme court justices on the bench decide to die or retire and then he can nominate replacements that agree with his plan.

after congress approves his new justices, he'll have to present the congress with a bill repealing the term limits law. if 2/3 of congress sides with him and all of his newly appointed justices approve the legality of it, i think he's just got to keep getting the popular vote.

or try to make a new law making him president forever and hoping that congress and the supreme court support him on that one, too.

i guess it's technically possible, but there will be a lot of public outcry.

Yes he can / and has changed the rules many times already.

Yes he can do that because he has all the guns. This is not a Land of the Free and a home of brave any longer. Our freedom has been taken and will be taken more and more. The brave are not home, they are in Iraq for the most part.

No

If a president had that power don't you think that Slick Willy and Hilly would have used it?

The Constitution sets the term limits for the Presidency!
