We need more common sense, as George Bush has. What a catastrophe the more intellectual Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton were. Horrible waking nightmares.

There have been some highly intelligent people elected president, for example Lincoln, Wilson, J.Q. Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Grover Cleveland, and many others.

The intelligent ones haven't always been clearly better than the others. FDR wasn't as bright as people think, but he had this "brains trust" to give him ideas. The problem with W isn't that he's stupid, it's that he doesn't like or trust smart people.

The people who elect the party, the party elect the leader, the leader has as much power as the party and people allow him, the people have the power to control both the leader and the party but the people collectively don't have the brains to do this, and that is why politicians without brains continue to rule.

Because in this day and age, people care more about money than about intelligence.

Look at it this way: If the cure to cancer was discovered ON THE SAME DAY that Paris Hilton was found dead in her house, which would have more news?

Of course, Paris Hilton would. The cancer blurb would be just that - a blurb - while they would devote a whole month to the Paris Hilton thing.

Remember Anna Nicole Smith?

But then why would they want to break such a long-running tradition of electing idiots?

Then again, Blair wasn't exactly the smartest guy around, and a large majority of english people voted him in 3 times...

Are you saying that the United States government doesn't elect an intellectual for president? That's crazy, and I always expect a presidential candidate to have a good college degree. Although the Constitution does not prohibit someone with brains to be president, probably no one with a high IQ of, say, between 150 and 200 has ever taken that government position in history. When the 2008 presidential election comes, we'll see which president, or presidential candidate, has the highest IQ before electing him or her.

Because you would have to elect someone from the UK. No one in America has brains. :)

Okay, first - he has a brain. If he didn't he'd have died at birth.
Second- Americans don't elect a President, the " Electoral College " does.
Third - The "Unelected" rule America, i.e. the Military, the Tax Collectors, and the infinite masses of Bureaucrats.

Fourth - For all of you Hillary supporters..... she is only a viable candidate because she has proven that she can keep the wool pulled over the eyes of the country.

Because in the US there are very low percentage of people who do have brains.

Well, some today say that we got brains with the IQ test and the only ones I recognize there are his little one. (Juanita Broadrick/Body Count) Nice to meet you... what you do for Bill you do for both of us... ladies we know when the little brain is in control. Sorry, I feel that study was poorly portrayed.

GW leads with his heart and it is about time. Do you consider being played by a man known for speech or a man known for what he does regardless of the speech. I went to High School. Being Popular lasts five minutes. Going against the grain lasts a
lifetime when you firmly believe you are right.

Thank you.
