The government took down the towers to cover up and get the press off the Roswell crash and the fact that secret government experiments are why the chupacabra's got loose. That and the Atlanteans demanded a better view of Manhattan from their invisible submarines.

Bush is adamant that Congress allow him to wiretap without a warrant. Far as I know, that was unconstitutional in the pre-Bush era.

I understand that we need to be able to combat terrorism. However, if the FBI or CIA or NSA have a good reason to spy on someone, how long does it take to get a warrant?

Is the fear that the individual of concern will flee? I was under the impression a warrant could be had in less than a day.

Is that delay of one day (give or take) enough to justify trampling on your rights?

Most of the farm lands in india is acquired in the name of globalization. I am afraid that india won t become a world leader unless it is improving our core sector, that is agricultural sector. Even most of the state governments also support for globalization.

It's there on the senate website. I believe it still has to go through the HOR (it might have already) but the way it's going, I'm sure it will pass. I think it's pretty neat, I'm glad we're getting more structure and guidelines in our country!

My friend told me that there was no such thing as privacy becuz the government is able to watch anyone and listen in on phone calls and all kinds of stuff like that. Is this true?

With the bridge collapsing in Minnesota, it makes me wonder, who is re4sponsible for inspecting bridges and tunnels? The state and local govt..?
If we can't depend on them to do gtheir jobs, perhaps state and local govts are obsolete and weshould just have one, big federal government that talkes care of everything.
Response?

The bill listed that legislators should be prohibited by law to accept gifts, free plane rides, and favors from lobbyists, and wealthy donors.
That seems fair to me, but some legislators were opposing it, saying that it didn't do enough, and it was just a crowd-pleaser, and that it was exacerbating and concealing the problem. It seems to me that the problem would indeed be partially solved by these measures.

Ok, my cousin just moved to Indiana from Ohio. She went to get her Indiana license today and the BMV refused to issue her an ID or Driver's License because the last name on her Social Security Card is A****, and the last name on her birth certficate and her Ohio Driver's License is W******.
Her parents were not married at the time of her birth, so her mother used her maiden name, W******.
However, when her parents applied for her Social Security Card they used her father's last name A****, and that was the name the Social Security Administration issued the card under.
So she went to the Social Security Administration today with all her identification papers, her birth certficate, her Ohio Driver's License and her Social Security Card. They tell her that her legal name is the one on her Social Security Card, and their computer shows that it was legally changed to A**** in 1989, but do not have hard copies oh the court paperwork. They give her an official legal affadavit, stating
