Not without inside help. They could easily orchestrate the hit, but other internal things would need governmental assistance

Not now, but it could have during the Kennedy Administration.

However, it didn't.
The problem with conspiracies is that the larger the conspiracy is the harder it is to keep it secret and the longer it goes on the worse it becomes. There is an old saying "Two men can keep a secret if one of them is dead."

The most significant secret of the last 25 years was who Deep Throat was; the man who informed the two newspaper reporters and broke the entire Watergate story.

Woodward and Bernstein promised to keep his name secret until after his death, but Deep Throat himself came forward so he could sell his story and get money for his health care.

The lure of money, fame and publicity is so much that it is very hard to keep anything secret.

The mob was powerful back then and Jack Ruby was suspected of mob connections (he killed Lee Harvey Oswald). Kennedy started some work against the mob and the mob lost their profitable operations in Cuba under Kennedy, but they really didn't have a good reason to kill him. Kennedy was just too popular and killing him would create a public backlash. The same problem is true for any federal organization, like the CIA. Killing the President is not a simple task or a simple conspiracy, it takes a lot of work and the temptation to expose the secret, or the chance of accidentally exposing it, is just too great.

True conspiracies are out there and anything is possible, but the exhaustive investigation into the Kennedy assassination hasn't found any evidence that proves the conspiracy existed. I don't mean evidence that proves he was assassinated by a certain group; I mean any evidence at all that anybody, anybody, besides Oswald was involved. I can say the same thing about the death of Marlon Monroe. Just too many people have looked into it.

Then there is the second reason for a lot of conspiracies to fail, who profited from it? And with the risk of exposure so great was it worth the chance to get involved. President Johnson profited from President Kennedy’s death the most, he became the next President, but there has never been any question that he was involved. If the FBI or CIA was behind the conspiracy then why, what good would his death have done for them?

The mob was being investigated by the FBI under President Kennedy, but that has been true since the days of Eliot Ness and the Untouchables. The FBI got more involved in the investigation of the mob over the years, but it wasn’t until the 1970s when they made any major headway and that was mostly due to the passing of the Ricco Laws that gave them tools to prosecute the mob. The mob really had no way to gain if Kennedy was killed and way too much to lose if it were ever discovered that they were behind the assassination. If you think the Untouchables hurt the mob, imagine the public outcry and the resulting law enforcement response if any information surfaced that the mob was involved in the Kennedy assassination.

Yeah, easily. I have a picture which shows Lee Harvey Oswald standing in the doorway of the Texas School Book Depository 10 seconds before Kennedy was shot. Jack Ruby killed Oswald so that he could not give testimony at the trial, because it would have pointed to someone other than Oswald.

The mafia has been and is known to be able to do anything. The Italian Mafia is one of the most powerful types of groups that you can create (not to be mistaken with the Irish Mob). With a few connections and a minimal outside help, anything can be accomplished. Have you heard about Whitey Bulger and how he and his mob corrupted the Boston FBI system and government, had complete control over Southie, took out every other Irish Mob in the city, and he himself still hasn't been caught since? That's the kinda power the mafia has, except Italian, and you know what they say, Italians' are bigger and have more fun (and in more than one way).

Of course they do but they would'nt. They love this country and they are proud Americans. They are in the persuit of the American dream and will use any means to get it. They would never assasinate the president. But the Mafia are good people. All the organization is, is a police department for people that can't go to the cops. That's all. Stupid FBI they will never understand.
