Because it's like being called out for "stealing the deal" in a game of Euchre. You're supposed to try to cheat in euchre. That's half the fun of the game!

For non-midwesterners, it's like when a baseball pitcher is caught doing something to the ball. Or when a hockey player uses an stick that is curved beyond regulation, or when the goalie uses pads beyond the regulation size, or when a NASCAR team cheats to make their car faster. It's part of the game.

The Republicans did plenty of this stuff when they were in control. On various occasions they kept a vote open while they worked with members to change their vote, which used to be illegal. In committees and even the full Senate and House they'd refuse to recognize Democrats and let them speak. They would even have committee members and not tell the Democrats on the committee they were having them.

I think this was wrong and I also think what McNulty did was wrong. Apparently, Republicans only think it's wrong when Democrats do it.

Over the last 25 years or so, this kind of thing has happened over and over. The Repubs bend or change the rules and nobody has a problem with it, but this sets a precedent. When the Dems follow the precedent, the Repubs and the media are all outraged.

the justice department said they will investigate him right after they get gonzalez to remember something.

Because the same type of thing happens a few times a year -- every term going back decades.

It's standard procedural tricks that every party has done.
