China & India

Russia also ahs the possilbity of raising up to said status again.

Of course with so many candidates unless we find a way to stabilize the middle east a VERY large war between the superpowers and the wannabes will be fought. Perhaps a couple of times in the next 50 years.

Best hope for world peace?

Absolute destruciton of militant Islam.

The Sword of peace MUST be stronger than the sword of war.

If you are strong enough then no one will desire to make war with you. Of course this becomes null and void if you show a reluctance to use said strength.

The world fifty years from now may be unrecognizeable.

Instead of a single nation state having the bulk of the power, I imagine it will be a corporate conglomerate, and nations may finally be irrelevant. I see a kind of feudalism being the state of things, since that's where we're headed now.

Like the illuminati thing, but without the silly conspiracy theories... just natural corporate fascism at its most persuasive.

Without question, CHINA. They have 4000 years of culture and time is on their side. Watching America's decline in 100 years time is a drop in the bucket in the Chinese way of thinking.

They also have two fifths of the world's population and an ever-growing military.

India. China already is one.

After China, India has the largest population.

They have one of the highest literacy rates, a high percentage of English-speaking citizens (not necessary to be a superpower, but it helps), and one of the mostly rapidly growing economies and infrastructures.

And they already have nuclear capability.

So, US, China, maybe Russia still qualifies... and India.

The one world government that the illuminiti and the neoconns have been creating over the past 100 years.

Simply merge the North American Union, the European Union, the Asian Union and the African Union.
