way America will have to buy the oil like everyone else, instead of setting up puppet democracies to ensure their oil supplies, so Americans can keep running V8 gas guzzling planet destroyers, to the local Mall for their shopping? Isn't this the best way foward?

Cherie Blair was a Girl Guide and was asked if she achieved her badge for wiring a 13 amp electrical plug - her answer 'Oh yes, I can do that' and added well my husband is absolutely useless!!!!'

The reason I ask this is that after a while I believe all/most leaders lose touch with their electorate and the real world. Blair has always courted the rich and famous and as we know there has been the odd allegation of corruption. Do you think it would be a good idea to take on the USA system where their President can only serve two terms in office. I don't mean follow the US system of elections just copy the maximum of two terms for the PM

I just read a question that another member posted, im a little angry that the president is letting all illegal immigrants amnesty and letting them have our social services(social security medicaid etc) when in fact its a well known fact that when our children need those services there will be none, not to mention that even right now its practically impossible to get these services for my parents that were born and raised here and worked their lives away and paid their dues, and yet a foreign person( mexican) can waltz right in as long as they can get past the fence and border patrol and then steal what they have no right to touch(my opinion) our pay rates have declined and over half of the blue collar workers are minorities, so im asking this when they take our money and jobs and our parents savings why on earth do some of you not see a problem with this, and then get so mad when one of us stands up and express" our anger about it? this wouldnt happen in mexico, so why complain??

is it a bit optimistic to think that keeping kids in school who didn`t learn anything by 16 will achieve anything .By that age it seems obvious they either can`t or don`t want to learn
maybe the government could subsidise them to learn a trade instead ?

Why are there so many people asking questions about benefits on Yahoo answers, it's as if people think they have a right to sit at home all day getting paid to surf the net. Today I have seen questions regarding sueing a benefits tribunal for lible, questions about housing benefit and income support and incapacity benefit. I'm seriously considering changing career and going on the dole and whinging about how little money the govt is giving me. Am I cynical?

Gordon Brown tells us the union of England and Scotland is under threat, telling us of a 'dangerous drift' toward separatism. Does anyone think the differences between the two states have become stronger after the SNP (founded 1934) has performed well recently, and has worried politicians of other parties just in time for the Scottish elections.
Wondering how English will treat Scots (in England), and vice versa, for it has many implications...and not just the usual groans like the Scottish oilfields and whisky revenue. And I'm sure the London-based red-tops will play the stirring game as they did with the West Indies (and Brit. born Windies) as they did from the late-fifties onwards, and the Irish ten years after. Who knows...some dear might even concoct an orgasm-inducing S.A.S.-'terrorist'-'extremist' story to get us all south of Berwick-on-Tweed sneer...and in Scotland itself, supporters of Mr. Salmond (and the man himself) might show us unforseen colours. Are we ready for it?

A division between "those of us who are prepared to support the shared values of the union" and those who are prepared to "put the whole future of the union at risk". (David Cameron who is still a unionist at the moment)

Which side of the dividing line are you on?
Also what are the repercussions for those in the UK's principality of Wales and the UK's province Northern Ireland?
