I don't think you are cynical. I know a lot of people who could work but don't. They have an easy life sitting about all day while my taxes help them do that. However, I also have friends who are too ill to work, which is fine, I have friends who have kids and are looking after them but working part time, that's fine too. What's not fine is the lazy good for nothings I know..... maybe it's time to let them know how I feel and give them a boot to get them out to work (",)

I get benefit due to ill health I would like to work only impossible I manage very well have 2 adult children who live away from home who work very hard pay tax as I once did they don't see me without anything although the amount I get is sufficient I do wonder sometimes about some who get benefit no rent or council tax to pay and say they cannot manage if you take into account some men work full time have a mortgage and council tax to pay some are worse off than those on benefit there are benefit scroungers as there has always been only there are some genuine who sadly have no other option so don't think of people who are on benefit as all the same it may be you one day and hope for your sake it's not

There do seem to abe alot of questions but please dont think EVERYONE is a whinging scounger. Those on incapacity benifit are on it because they are sick and as I understand it they have to pass strict medical conditional tests before they are granted the benefit. Housing benefit is paid to people who work on low wages as well as benefit claimants. DOnt be too hasty to tar all with the same brush when you dont know the details xxx

Unemployment Benefits and unemployment as a whole is symptomatic of government failure.
I'm afraid It is not a morality or personal issue.
The government want to turn it into a trisha morality tale, and personalise it to stop us holding they're economic policies responsible.
Job seekers allowance isn't a jobseekers alowance but a police system that roots people to the spot and prevents them going anywhere to find work.
It needs to be raised massively to become a jobseekers allowance, unfortunately people on low incomes will also be liberated by this.

I sometimes think of doing that as well....I work my backside off - get taxed on this that & the next thing ... with the money I do get to keep - the government even tries to nab that as well ... expensive pertol - expensive housing ...expensive electricity & gas... Then you see Mr & Mrs Asylum Seeker - coming into the country and getting hand outs free.housing - free this free that ..not paying council tax... etc etc... I used to slag off Social punters ...but now .... it seems that is the way forward these days... because the Government has us beaten... for some reason Tony & Co...the ex- working mans party wants to keep everyone down,.. use your vote wisely next time..
