In my opinion, if Scotland want to break away, then I say let them. And they can take all their Scottish MP`s from the English parliament with them. It`s not that the English are - as you say `superior` and `cocky`, it`s just that we are sick to the back teeth of being told what to do by some inferior Jock! Whereas in Scotland there are `NO` English on yours.
I would welcome Scotland leaving the Union and would be the first to arrange a night on the p1zz to celebrate it :-)

Because you will never be truly independent unless you retracted from the whole welfare/funding that you receive from the UK would you?
It's all about the definition of independence isn't it? Scotland might be taken seriously if they suggested setting up their own welfare system in the process of becoming fully independent and not a subsidised dependent.
I love the Scottish and Scotland and I don't have an objection to you being independent - but let's do it properly!

got to say there definately is a sence of superiority in our nationality it goes into our history and who we see our selves when we are all human beings and know race is any better than any other , one good way this has helped us is us keeping our currency and passport facing , its important we keep our own currency for many ways but these are the not the reason we kept it , its because we the english people see our selves as superior . this is one example of it and luckily a good result for the wrong reason.

awww.... you're being a bit defensive i think.... do you have an inferiority complex? :)
i really don't think the english give a toss these days really... they've got enough on their plate trying to convince themselves that blair (who they voted in) shouldn't go on trials for war crimes. which he quite clearly should.
and if and when he does finally step down, i imagine most people will be screaming for scottish independance before the crazy scot ruins the country's economy by over taxing and giving the money away to foreign countries.

Mostly because it's a "pipe dream"... England would not willingly agree to Scottish independence, therefore it could only happen unilaterally. If that were to occur, Scotland would be isolated, and fail quickly...
Oh well

Ok. I'm scottish. I am patriotic. I love my country. However, even I recognise that as a nation we could not cope economically if completely independant from the rest of the UK. No idea why the bams south of the boarder get so uppity though.

Because they are frightened history is going to repeat itself......they are ashamed of their previous history and how they treated the scots before William Wallace rose up and kicked their butts.
