We'll have a Black one long before a Latino. If Colin Powell were to decide to run in 2008, it could be very soon. There's too much anti-Latino feeling in this country because of illegals and the rantings of some of the more militant groups for one to be elected in the foreseeable future. Look at the Texas gubernatorial race of a few years ago when Tony Sanchez ran against the incumbent Rick Perry. Even Democrats crossed over to vote for Perry!!

It could be an Oreo or a coconut. Any Latino that is elected for president would have to a 6th or 7th (or later) generation person. Even though he OR SHE would be Latino they would be very Americanized. A black person I don't know, I still think they would have a hard time getting the votes from the southern states. I'm not saying they are all racist, but it will be difficult.

I would say a black presient. Colin Powell would have been a good choice last election. Barack Obama is a great canidate for the next election. Senator Clinton would have had a better chance if she divorce Bill. As things are now, I think the American public is saying, not another Bush or Clinton. They have dominated American politics for the past 20 years! Hilary may have some democratic support, but out of all the democrats running, she would clearly be the most hated. Perhaps a black President with a female VP.

A Latino, but only because the US Latino population will be large enough.
It's certainly not about merit or bias by the general public. Corporatists who donate heavily to the Dumbocrats and ReThugnicans (and are all white) would keep non-whites out permanently if they could.
