Elections - October 2006

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Elections

I saw several campaign ads, nearly all in a row on the same channel, yesterday, talking about how bad the Democratic candidates are. At least one was about how awful it is that his opponent is "liberal", or so the ad says. Liberal! How can he live with himself?! So, this information inspired one desire in me. to revive the corpses of Che Guevera and Karl Marx just so I can try to vote for them in place of the Republicans. I'm not anti Republican or pro Democratic, though my politics lean Dem, but, really, shut the hell up for a few minutes. Are zombies elligible for public office?

What fantasies or actions have excessive political ads inspired in you?

Your children will be paying it. Iraq alone costs us -- beside American and iraqi lives -- two billion dollars a month, or is that a week? Maybe it's before breakfast. For one, I'm delighted that the Republican Party stands for fiscal responsibility and small government. And if you're of age and don't vote, you shouldn't bother voicing an opinion.

This is for people who live in the Old Dominion State...Virginia, USA. Answer all of these questions (or just a few)...

1. Who are you voting for in the Senate race?

2. Will you vote yes or no for the proposed Marriage Amendment?

3. What do you think is the most important thing about voting yes or no for the marriage amendment?

4. What economic class do you consider your family to be a part of? Upper class, upper middle class, middle class, lower middle class, or poor?

Thanks for answering. FYI, this is just for my curiosity, not an official poll.

many will not,but we have to vote or the vultures will take everything you have away from you.I agree it may be a shot in the dark, but one way to get their attention is vote the incumbents out of office and new ones in every election until they get the message and ask God to guide your decision !!!

Al Gore, on his visit to Finland said that the Kyoto-Agreement will be adopted by the next administration regardless of which party it'll be.

Does this mean that this is a non-issue in elections? Seems like the only reason why it isn't adopted in the US right now is because of the current president/administration. I seem to recall that it was turned down because it would be "too costly"- but apparantly it wont be too costly to the new administration.

Or is this whistful thinking on Gore's part? A political lie in order to get everyone else into line behind the Kyoto agreement- like China and India who haven't joined because the biggest "polluter", the US, hasn't joined?

I've never missed an election..I always vote..but NOT now and I'll tell you why.

Because I'm sick and tired of Politicans who campaign from the right...then govern from the left.

Here in Ohio our governor might as well be a liberal yet he claims to be a republican.

DEBT...we used to be the party of finacial responsiblity...not anymore, the debt is soaring!

I'm done.....if I vote again it will be for the libertarians

I hope it is true, but won't be counting any chickens as of yet....

"Republicans have had an advantage with early-voter turnout over Democrats because of better party funding and organization, according to Paul Gronke, director of the Early Voting Information Center at Reed College in Oregon, a state where traditional Election Day polling has been eliminated altogether in favor of voting by mail. "I suspect it will still be their advantage," he said."

Now, I am just curious what the consensus would be on these people and who would be the most popular choice from these people.I know that none of them are running-that we know of, but let us pretend they are.Who would you like to see as president and vice president from the following:

Anderson Cooper
Dan Rather
Jon Stewart
Steven Colbert
Whoopi Goldberg
Margaret Cho
Dan Aykroyd
Carlos Mencia
Al Franken
Larry King

Ok, you got my list. Now who from this list would you vote for president and who for vice president?
