First it isn't at the other party's expense, it is at the tax payer's expense, all of ours. Second I strongly remember Clinton sitting at the end of the taxiway waiting for Big Mac's wasting thousands of dollars in jet fuel as the engines idled, but he was hungry. If not by AF 1 how is he going to get around the country?

Yes the president must be protected and must have his office with him, he is working 24 hours a day, presidents speak with foreign leaders on the plane and even sign laws on the plane. It is part of the job.

no it is not because it is us the taxpayers that pay for the cost to operate air force one it doesn't matter what party it is for air force one should not be used for political gain for anyone

Not really. Our tax dollars should not be spent on candidate re-election. The only expense of the other party is not having free campaigning.

a lot of really dumb people with a lot of dumb answers. the question asked, is it fair for any president to do this. all tax payers are either (REP)) or (Dem) of sorts. I think it's unfair as hell.

It's not only fair (that's spelled F-A-I-R) but it's necessary in order that he stay withing communications range of government. They all do it so don't get your panties in a wad.
