I have been considering to build a fallout shelter but I don't know weather the city would allow me to do that. does anyone one know how hard it is to get the permission and how much money I'd have to spend to get it? I am also planning on building it myself and will the city allow me to do that or do I have to hire a professionals?

A year ago the Indian government banned child labour in hospitality and in domestic work. How effective has it been? and where has it left children and their families? Isn't it time the government answered a few questions?

When Bush says this, do you picture running gun battles with Al-Queda insurgents in your downtown, or IED's taking out school buses on Main Street? Does this make you afraid of daily gun battles in your neighborhood? Do you consider that something like that would even be possible?

And when the government foils a terrorist plot, isn't that just proof that the logic is flawed, because the terrorists are still trying to fight us "over here" regardless of us fighting them "over there"?

So what exactly does Bush mean when he cites this as the reason to continue the Iraq war?

I'm not looking for justifications for the war, just an explanation of the logic behind that statement.

Dunno if you viewed the numerous videos on utube covering the subjects - They are well worth viewing if you have not (just type 9/11 in the search window and you'll see them).

Anyway, much of the info from the noted videos is very troubling... Watch them and see for yourself.

None of the principles that America was founded on have managed to survive. There is no equality and no leadership. Millions die on the street everyday due to a lack of health care and corruption permeates our local and federal governments.

All one has to do is look at what other successful countries have done to see what we need to do to get back our global respectability. Countries like China, Cuba, and Russia have done a far better job. How do we the people convince our government that we are fed up with this crap?

i always thought "serve and protect" were their main selling point, right?

Then how come the mayor of Phoenix is telling us if we want local law officials to "serve and protect" on the immigrant control problem, they are going to have to see some of that immigrant control problem money?

I got stopped for jay walking last week on a dead street(just me, not the hispanics that took off in a full sprint, not the drunk bum,) they arent all that slammed. So the mayor is stopping his staff from doing their duty to the community based on money? When they already hemmorage hundreds of thousands annually? How does he rationalize this?

I have upmost respect for the police here, even they are protesting his interference. They bring em in, he lets them go. bush wants a slave labor force, we get that. But damn.

Hi. Im only 15 so bear in mind my naivity (!) but what do you think about the UK economy. Inflation hit the 3% mark a few months ago, and is now going to a low of 1.8-9%. House prices are finally going down, and interest rates are on a high of 5.75%. Perhaps most importantly, economic growth is slowing down - still growing, but growing less - from 2.5-3.0% to 2.0-2.5% (and Government figures are usually on the high end). A few weeks ago when the inhertance -or should I call it a death tax- 'cut' was anounced, I heard that Government spending isn't going to be all as much as in the Blair years.

Do you think we're heading into bad economic times - personally I think it is stepping one notch down, but I don't quite think we're going to be right down there yet.

We got another deployment coming up for the 39th infanty(Army Guard). I get pissed everytime i turn to the news and they go on (libs)about how disastrous this war is and the mistake we made trying to establish a government! Mistake?!?! were over there fight our asses off, setting up a government which can sustain it self, defend it self, and run its self, by its self. We have been working with Iraqie troops that are some of the best troops you can work with. They stand up they fight along side us. And i have heard nothin of this, the only damn thing i'v heard was the libs distrespecting me, the army, the iraqies, and this war that were fighting for.

Lesion too a Ranger and tell me how you feel about this war.

That is like calling FOX conservative because they aren't liberals. Do you see how liberals try and stack the deck?

I see it on here a lot... a conservatives posting some cite that has some "anti-global" warming points... often very basic science points like "the earth has been warmer in the past"

while much of this is technically true, and there may be some other theories for global warming....

most scientists are WELL aware of these... and yes most still believe in man-made global warming... based on the research?

Do Republicans really think that they are bringing up points scientists "never thought of" or "don't understand"?
