Turkey is having problems with the Kurds who are embolden by what has happened in Iraq and Pakistan may fall to fundamentalists sympathetic to Osam bin Laden and Al Qaeda. And, our intensified bombing of suspected Al Qaeda strongholds has resulted in civilian deaths which may undermine our efforts.

Ive been thinking of running, I don't have a job and I heard that you get money for being on one, and really have nothing better to do.

I really do want to make a difference, I live in Concord NC, and in case you live here, there was this huge story about the Lowe's Motor Speedway, and Burton Smith. Basically the Council played right into there hands and cost the city alot of money.

So If I decide to go though with this what am I in for.

and yes we pay for their stupidity......year after year houses burn, or get washed away in mudslides.....because of fires.......and the insurance companies simply pass on the expense to other members...........

solution---you choose to live in a region that experiences natural disasters every year, you pay for the rebuilding of any damaged property.

Here's the background first:
We are working with a home study agency for adoption and recently needed an updated home study in order for our adoption to move forward. In the state of California, two post placement visits are required AFTER you adopt a child.

We haven't gotten that far yet but this agency is now saying that they will not release our recently updated home study (which we paid $350 for and is holding up our adoption) until we pay them another $700 for post placement. They say we knew about this because they sent us a contract. But we never signed the contract - honestly we overlooked it. So they took our money and did the home study without a signed contract from us for the FUTURE post placement. They say we are bound by the contract because we allegedly knew about it.

So are we bound by a contract that we overlooked and never signed?

Does anyone know of a Law Code we can refer to?

Thanks so much in advance for your help!!!!

What is a good source to read about politics that is not biased? (I know it's not really possible, but if I got answeres to both sides I could read what both sides had to say.) I want to educate myself for the upcoming elections so that I'm not just some ignorant person throwing my vote away. I've been watching some of the debates on TV but I would like to learn more. Please help me be less ignorant, for our countries sake!

I cannot find, even a single eye witness, press account, in all the world (then or today) of any Vietnam Vet, ever being physically spit on. Vietnam Vets would have reported the spiting incidents to the police if they were real.

There is an eyewitness (press) account of Vietnam Vet, spitting on the war protester Jane Fonda. They were arrested because spitting on someone has always been a crime.

For not reporting even one of the "spitting incidents” to police, or to the press, Yahoo Vietnam Vets are obviously lying, but why are they lying? Why do Yahoo Vietnam Vets want the world to believe that they were spit on when they never reported it?

Half of you have broken some law (don't lie) or you have someone in your family who has, and most of your behinds don't work and if you did you woudn't especially like the idea of digging potatoes or husking corn.
So just hush your tired rhetoric about sp-called 'illegals because your daddy's daddy's daddy was an illegal and his daddy was responsible for the deaths of a people who were already here when they bought their tired thieving behinds on these shores. And don't start some nonsense about if it weren't for our 'forefathers' that I wouldnt be here. I know I wouldn't be here and neither would you.
So just get used to them. Take a good look around....they are everywhere. If it bothers you, take your tired behinds back to Europe where you came from.

I would like to gather your opinion on you rights to refuse to show the door greeter/security guard your receipt when leaving a store. My personal opinion is that unless there is some probable cause for the guard to search you, such as an employee visually seeing you place something in your person, any search is unreasonable; simply refusing to show a receipt IS NOT reasonable suspicion. I know many of you are just saying, “If you didn’t steal anything, why not just show your receipt and move on.” I feel that I shouldn’t be required to forfeit my rights to anyone, especially a (relatively) untrained greeter/guard. This is analogous to consenting for a vehicle search to a police officer, why surrender my 4th amendment right to privacy.
An addendum to the previous question, do you feel that the ant-theft device alarm presents reasonable cause to be searched. Personally I feel that it doesn’t. Ask yourself how many times has it (incorrectly) gone off when you have purchased an item?

Iam a resident in Pennslyvannia and i have a licence to carry a gun, which i do. I know that the law in PA limits places that people can carry like gov. buildings, schools, state parks etc.. But my question is what are the regulations exactly and is there ever really a situation that someone could shoot somebody justifiably in the eyes of the law. LIke could you shoot someone in self defence, and maybe kill them and not go to jail for murder charges. What if there are no witnesses to say that a person was truly defending him or herself. Also what if you get in a situation and you pull your weopon but dont discharge it? Oh and is alcohol a factor for the carrier? -it would be great if a cop or lawyer from PA could answer! thanks

Doesn't it make sense that people who don't support the war are indirectly not supporting the troops. All of the politics going on about the war (Ex. Should we be there or not? Are we winning the war? Should we pull out?) surely aren't doing anything to motivate the troops. The way I look at it, I think that people should support the war effort, whether they agree with the war or not so the troops can get the job done and come home.

I've used this letter in other various responses to questions and another question I asked earlier and I'm going to use it again. It's a very important letter and I think that if more people would read it they might be able to understand how the troops in Iraq really feel about whats going on.

Here's the link to the website with the letter:

Should National Security Supercede conflicting claims of individual Rights? In other words, Do you feel that when you walk into the airport. and security checks you head to toe. Taking the shoes off even is violating your individual rights. Is it a necessity to maintain nation security in such a far level that often you become discriminated against or even detained for simply saying the wrong words? I feel It is necessary to national security to check every person. But my question is are they going to far?

Could I get a list of several guns that would be the best for home-defense? Seems like most people say that the shotgun is the best. What type of shotgun would be good? I know little about guns. I am a male and can handle a larger gun if need be.

The clerk said that they don't prosecute unless it is $25. Isn't there something that they could do. I mean if he eats a donut every day for free it will eventually mean a substantial loss for the company. What if we all did that?

Ok, just for starters, this question comes from an episode of Law and Order. I understand that it is TV and not real life. That being said, can the DA really do this? On the show, a big company was found to have poisoned several people and sickened and entire low rent apt building. The CEO of the company was given the choice to pay all medical bills for the tenants of the building for life or face charges. That can't ahppen right? That would seem like blackmail on the part of the DA and being able to buy your way out on the part of the CEO. Or is it different because it is a company and not a single person? My thoughts are that it can not happen fo the reasons sated above. Am I correct?

military enlistment oath says you are sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution. It also says you will "obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice."

But it says to uphold and defend the Constitution first. The President is to be obeyed as long as his orders are legal and do not subvert the constitution. and so....
since the prez holds dear to his heart that the "Constitution is just a piece of paper" and since he has basically stepped all over it, despite his being commander in chief (lower case on purpose) is there any regulation/law that says that another high ranking member of government who BELIEVES in the Constitution cannot take over the reigns of the MILITARY.

and taxpayers paying for it. Not deporting undocumented immigrants will cost an estimated $2.5 trillion (congressional testimony). That will require the U.S. government to raise taxes on the middle class.

Undocumented immigrants make the unwanted babies so they can say "Don't deport us. We have children." Also, the use them to petition the U.S. government to stay here permanently. 300,000 unwanted babies are born in America each year by people who don't beong here. Many of the babies grow up to be criminals because they are unwanted from birth.

Mexxican undocumented immigrants have larger families than if they would have stayed in Mexico. That contributes to an increased level of CO2.
"Among Mexxican immigrants in the United States, for example, fertility averages 3.5 children per woman compared to 2.4 children per women in Mexico."
