and yes we pay for their stupidity......year after year houses burn, or get washed away in mudslides.....because of fires.......and the insurance companies simply pass on the expense to other members...........

solution---you choose to live in a region that experiences natural disasters every year, you pay for the rebuilding of any damaged property.

Natural disaster can and does happen everywhere. Rates are higher where they happen more. Unless you are living under a rock somewhere your house can be destroyed also.

Sounds like you are biased against people in California for some reason.

News flash...Insurance is a risk sharing arrangement. The insurance companies who insure houses in Malibu charge more premium to insure those homes. The insurance companies know the risks and as long as they charge enough $ to insure that risk, the system works.

Go live in West Virginia and I guarantee you will have low insurance premiums on your house.

Then what about all the people living in New Orleans? Who would live below sea level? How about earthquake faults in California? How about tall buildings in New York that are obvious terrorist targets?
