""WASHINGTON - President Bush said Wednesday that he will not sign a new eavesdropping bill if it does not grant retroactive immunity to U.S. telecommunications companies that helped conduct electronic surveillance without court orders.""

Afraid somebody will make a deal?

In 1950 only 18% of American had a health-care plan.
1960 28%
1970 49%
1980 68%
1990 74%
2007 92.4% according to Hillary Clinton.

Why are so many sooo willing to allow government to get involved in OUR Health-Care Coverage?

Health-Care is 1/7th of the entire economy...it's worth BILLIONS...can you see why government bureacrats are foaming at the mouth to control this wealth of resources.

I am shocked at my liberal friends who HATE government controll and fight against government intusion & oversight in to our lives are so ready to be fooled by this take over of our most private area of our life.

The system in Canda and the rest of the industrialized world that offer's so-called "FREE" health-care is in a wreck with long lines and waiting list and massive debt.

Not that we have a perfect "private" system but

why?

My cousin overdosed on Pot. He was 19 years old, & a senior in high school. He was always a favorite in our family, & everyone loved him. He was a football player, & an active member in our church.

Well, 1 day during his senior year, he went to a party. Some liberal parents had gone out of town, & left their child unattended (why am I not surprised by the irresponsible parents) so he decided to throw a party. When my cousin arrived, the other kids were drinking, smoking, & behaving very poorly.

Since most of the kids were passing around a marijuana cigarette, my cousin felt a little bit out of place. At first, he refused to smoke. But the kids kept putting peer pressure on him by saying things like, "just take a puff", "all the cool kids are doing it" & "nobody has ever died from smoking marijuana." Finally, my cousin succumbed to the pressure, & he took a puff.

Immediately he went into convulsions. Then he stopped breathing. Finally, his heart gave out, and he passed away :(

I am NOT talking about disabled or elderly/retired. I’m talking about the rest of them. I don’t consider addiction a disability either.
I have worked long and hard, made some mistakes and pulled myself out of some pretty decent holes to get to where I can make a decent wage and get good benefits. No one gave me a nickel when I was down. Should I have to pay for others that are in the same place I was before or that don’t feel like working?
When I had a crappy job, I didn’t have 401k or medical insurance(I was also smart enough not to have any children during that time). I didn’t make enough to get by on. I worked hard to get ahead. Why isn’t this expected of everyone?

After serious consideration I believe this country needs Barack Obama as President and Ron Paul as Vice President. I think they can really put our country in the right direction and fix the problems we've been having over the years.

If everyone lived according to the bible, wouldn't the country be a much better place? Shouldn't everybody live by the bible, and if they don't want to wouldn't it be better to force them to by making it law?

All these questions about taking God out of Society, and it made me think of this question.

Can anybody provide links? Also if you can show me how many people have been forced in their own homes not to talk about and pray to God? Links for this would be great.

I have been trying to find it on the net and haven't found a transcript from that show.

I am surprised that no religious groups have been speaking out against her remarks though.

Donny told her that he was very offended by her comments.

I am just curious if anyone else caught this.
