I say that’s cool… complacency kills.

I would rather be prepared than dead. When you say it can’t happen to you, that is exactly when it does.

What say you?

It sounds like a fast-food grudge match: Taco Bell is taking on the homeland of its namesake by reopening for the first time in 15 years in Mexico. Defenders of Mexican culture see the chain's re-entry as a crowning insult to a society already overrun by U.S. chains from Starbucks and Subway to KFC. "It's like bringing ice to the Arctic," complained pop-culture historian Carlos Monsiváis. The company's branding strategy — "Taco Bell is something else" — is an attempt to distance itself from any comparison to Mexico's beloved taquerias, which sell traditional corn tortillas stuffed with an endless variety of fillings, from spicy beef to corn fungus and cow eyes. Taco Bell, a unit of Louisville, Ky.,-based Yum Brands, made its name promoting its menu to Americans as something straight out of Mexico. But it's a very different dynamic south of the border. Here, the company projects a more "American" fast-food image by adding French fries — some topped with cheese, cream, ground meat and tomatoes — to the menu at its first store, which opened in late September in the northern city of Monterrey.http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/businesstechnology/2003937804_tacobell100.html

But I have recently been approve to start receiving Social Security Disability, and Suplemental Security Income. Furthermore, it turns out that Social Security owes me back-pay dating back those few years while I was receiving foodstamps. I have recently applied to receive Qualified Medicare Beneficiary which is also carried by my state. Now, my Welfare caseworker wants me to hand over all of the docements that Social Security has sent me in connection to my benefits, and all information about my back pay benefits. Can my Welfare caseworker turn around and demand me to pay back Welfare for the foodstamps they gave me for those few years? My caseworker and I have a history of arguments about her attitude toward me, and the way she handles my case. So I need to know from you, if you think or know whether or not what she may be thinking about doing is legitament and legal.

The situation is this you are a police officer responding to a 911 call where there is a history of violent disturbances. when you arrive the mother of a teenage boy has been assulted and is in tears and the teenage boy is aggresive towards you despite attempts to calm him down. he brandishes a blunt object and threatens to kill you and his mother. you unholster your weapon and warned him several times to drop the weapon, he charges at you. The object is a old fashion iron with the tip made of metal conforming to a sharp point and weighs around 9 lbs. (it is a weapon that can do serious damage) you shoot and end up killing the teen. are you wrong??

Why didn't the USA & UK mention
(during the build-up to invading Iraq),
that the Israeli intelligence services had reported,
during the 1990 Gulf war,
the WMD were "loaded onto planes..."

(For a transcript of the 1990 Gulf war, and this complete quote, see: http://www.the-alternative-org.uk
Full Book
Chapter 13: War).

Perhaps if someone intelligent had asked: Where were the planes heading? the war might not have gone ahead using the WMD as justification?

Gun advocates always say that, it's not the gun that kills, it's the people that kill, and that we should fix the people by helping them. On the other hand, this same audience typically favors invading a country with force before trying to work it out diplomatically. So, where are these kids going to learn the right lesson about guns?

I cant believe that democrats are playing politics with our security. However, this battle they will surely lose. Bush is gaining momentum on this, and at the same time making dems look weak weak weak on terror! Yes!

1) The Republicans would have had the first black president in 1996 if Colin Powell had accepted the invitation. At the time the polls showed he would have beat Clinton easily. (Clinton was running for his second term.) How is that possible if the Republicans are as intollerant as the left claims?

2) The Republican party is generally pro-life, but a frontrunner, Rudy Gulianni, is pro-choice. So, the Republican party allows a pro-choice cadidate to be a frontrunner, but the Dems will NOT allow a pro-life candidate to be a frontrunner. Isn't that intollerance on the part of the Dems ?

After all was not Abraham Lincoln the first Republican president, the man who freed the slaves? And did not the Democrats who use to reign supreme in the south maintain there segragationist laws?
