we were talking about the illegal mexicans going into america and she got all touchy and mad at me. i didnt say i didnt like them or did i say anything unture it was all fact. how does she have the right to be mad at me? if anything she should be mad at the aleins for giving mexicans a bad reputation!

Well, it depends. Some Mexicans are extremely angry with those same aliens. These are usually the Mexicans who believe in laws and expect all people to behave in a law abiding manner.
Some Mexicans, however, support illegal aliens. They do this for a variety of reasons, but usually it is because they or someone connected to them IS illegal.
Your friend sounds like she might be in this category. She probably got mad because she is ashamed, but she doesn't want to admit that to herself. Sometimes, people handle shame with anger against those who make them confront that shame.

Its funny isn't it.
We are so Politically Correct that we have Whites and Blacks arguing with their own race over this subject, some want to maintain our countries sovereignty and others want to hug the world. For us it is not a race issue, we argue with each other with no problem.
For the Mexicans, talk about an illegal and they all get mad and are upset with you, their race comes before right or wrong.
They don't even care about the other illegals, other Hispanics, Asians, Europeans, no other illegals matter or count to them. As far as they are concerned, only Mexicans count.
And they call us racist.

I saw no reason for her to get upset unless of course she knows someone (a relative perhaps) who is an illegal. Or maybe she's illegal herself, or she could just be a bleeding heart liberal who let's her emotions decide her postion on the debate.
Or maybe since most illegals are Mexican, she feels that if you talk bad about illegals, you talk bad about Mexicans. It's people like her who make it into a race issue when it's not.
I wouldn't worry about it. She'll grow out of it or at least I hope she will.

I am the son of Immigrants from Poland. My family were at one time talking about a Polish family that came here illegally, they were all offended because they and I feel you need to do thing the legal way.
Its not okay to shoplift from a store because that law is inconvenient to you. Or drive 50 mph through a school because that should pertain to the other guy, a law is a law, and if you start of by breaking a law to be in this country, what other laws will you decide does not pertain to you

I had the same experience. It made me question (in my own mind) whether my friend is actually illegal herself and has been living a lie all along.
Tough toenails to any angry Mexican. They can head back out of the US whenever they feel the need.

my friends dad is greek. he came over about 20 years ago. i dunno if it was legally or not. but in any case, he got all akward when i talked about illegal mexicans. i just basically said, generally speaking, that people should come here legally and embrace our culture. not come here and wave their flags and demand americans embrace THEM. he got a bit akward and tried changing the subject. i let it go. but anyways, your friend might just be taking it as an insult to her mexican blood, when in fact she has probably never even been to mexico. people need to get over themselves and realize not everything is about them. and to not take everything so personally. the main word in 'illegal alien' is 'illegal'. never forget that.

well, many people get mad for no reason, but then again she cant help the fact that the subject hits a soft spot. maybe you should just avoid the subject around your friend. Also, illegals don't give mexicans a bad name. If anything, they disgrace themselves individually.
