All these questions about taking God out of Society, and it made me think of this question.
Can anybody provide links? Also if you can show me how many people have been forced in their own homes not to talk about and pray to God? Links for this would be great.

Brian, I didn't read anywhere in that the minister was a democrat. Are you sure it wasn't because of reasons of money.

Excellent question. Your answers will consist of God groupies claiming atheists don't want laws in this country based on religious views. These god nuts are usually capable of only seeing the world in black and white. One side is them wanting the govt. to make laws that affect every citizen in the US based on only their religion, usually Christianity. The other side are people who don't think any "god" should make laws about marriage or whether or not we're going to fund stem cell research.
To answer you question - ZERO. Please explain how a Democrat or Liberal can close down a church unless that church is involved in corrupt and/or illegal activities.
Brian, nice try.

properly, first of all.. the "debatable techniques" which you suggested are the two unfaithful, misrepresented, or no longer severe. unfaithful: Anti-Christmas, Anti-faith Misrepresented: professional-abortion, professional-Tax, professional-Socialism no longer severe: professional-gay marriage (believing interior the equality of guy is an American concept, no longer severe in usa.) Your financial premise is fake. the incredible 5% he's speaking approximately isn't business enterprise capital earnings, that's the indoors maximum earnings of CEOs of substantial firms. i do no longer care in the event that they could't purchase yet another LearJet because of the fact they could desire to pay greater taxes for social classes. They have been given their wealth interior the process the exploitation of the working poor besides, they could locate the money for to grant some back, and because they are not reliable adequate human beings to pay reliable wages and supply well being care and so on. to the working type, they could be compelled to so a techniques as i'm worried. all the difficulty approximately tax value cuts for a business enterprise as against a individual make no experience to me, and that i'm uncertain what you're speaking approximately, sorry.... Bush gave a a techniques better value of tax alleviation (as in proportion-sensible) to the richest human beings in his tax cuts.. i'm no longer common adequate to be puzzled via the concept that wealthy human beings could be getting greater rather funds back, and that i strongly doubt different liberals are the two, as an entire. So basically, you're lacking lots, for my section.

None. Nobody is taking God out of society, sometimes people just say so loudly that it's happening, we start to wonder if it's true.
Oh, and - nobody won't "allow" kids to pray at school. Nobody comes up to a praying child and tells them to stop. It is just that authority figures are not allowed to *lead* prayer in public schools, which is totally appropriate. Anyone who really cares about this issue knows that, so if you say your kid is having their freedom to worship taken away at school you're being intellectually dishonest.

We have more houses of worship per capita than any other country on earth. The questions about removing a specific God from somewhere are always asked by someone wishing to put their God in place of anyone elses God.

I do know that in Canada, and increasingly in the US, preaching certain tenets of Christianity has been investigated under "hate crimes" laws.
Here is a link I just found. I know nothing about the source. I leave that to others to judge:

PS How many Republicans have accused the Democrats of closing churches? I'd say none.
The question presents a "straw man" argument.

I get real nervous when I read "nut case" questions like this.
I can't even imagine what would bring you to the point of asking such an inane question.
Did your minister say something to mislead you to this?
Are you smoking crack?
You need to take some college courses in U.S. History and have some conversations with some educated people!

Michael P - Here is some back up for you there Bub...
I can’t think of any cases where a church has been shut down by a Democrat. That is not the issue that most conservatives are concerned with. This question is totally our of context with our concerns.
It is a well known fact that individuals of the Leftist/liberal/”progressive” (why so many names?) persuasion are more prone to embrace Marxist/socialist/communist ideologies. There is no denying this to any educated individual.
Most colleges are bastions of Leftist thought:
"Our college curriculums have many voices of hate busy at work preparing a future holocaust, but a voice of Christian love is considered too divisive to be tolerated. Dartmouth College prohibited copies of C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity from being distributed as gifts to students. A dean ruled that the book could be considered offensive. Hate has such a hold that love dare not be mentioned." Paul Craig Roberts, Human Events, May 7, 1999, p. 23
Planned parenthood is a Leftist organization with well known connections to the Communist Party USA:
f) "In her first newspaper, The Woman Rebel, Margaret Sanger admitted that 'Birth control appeals to the advanced radical because it is calculated to undermine the authority of the Christian churches. I look forward to seeing humanity free someday of the tyranny of Christianity no less than Capitalism.' Today, Planned Parenthood is continuing her crusade against the church. In its advertisements, in its literature, in its program, and in its policies, the organization makes every attempt to mock, belittle, and undermine Biblical Christianity." George Grant, Grand Illusions, p. 65.
This basically outlines the reasons Christianity must be removed from the West to allow Marxism to take hold:
g) "Individualism, united with altruism, has become the basis of our western civilization. It is the central doctrine of Christianity ('love your neighbor,' say the Scriptures, not 'love your tribe'); and it is the core of all ethical doctrines which have grown from our civilization and stimulated it." Popper, p. 102. "If, as Harold Bloom has lately argued, Shakespeare 'invented the human,' it can be said-with equal hyperbole-that Christianity 'discovered' the individual. In the ancient world, individuals were recognized as members of tribes or nations or families, and conducted themselves accordingly...the Gospels are replete with scenes in which Jesus works one on one, healing this woman's sickness, forgiving that man's sins and calling each to personal conversion. He invites Jews and Gentiles alike to enter God's kingdom. 'Christianity discovers individuality in the sense that it stresses personal conversion,' says Bernard McGinn, professor of historical theology at the University of Chicago Divinity School. 'This is a crucial contribution to Western Civilization because it releases the individual from the absolute constraints of family and society." Newsweek, March 29, 1999, p. 56.
If you seriously want to know what I am talking about, how the pieces fit. Print this, take it home and read it. Do some research into the keywords. Open your eyes man.
The paragraphs I provided are from the Essay: MARXISM AND AMERICAN SOCIETY (there is MUCH more)
http://www.schwarzreport.org/
[The ACLU was] established in 1920 by Roger Baldwin (who candidly stated that “Communism [was] the goal” toward which his efforts were directed)...
http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/groupProfile.asp?grpid=6145
For the past forty years the ACLU has used every legal machination to make the display of Christmas trees illegal if placed in a public institution or on property where there is even the remotest connection to a tax dollar. They’ve bludgeoned America with their claim that such displays violate the separation of church and state. The display of the Ten Commandments? Illegal, they say. Prayer in school? Prohibited, they charge. The mere mention of God at a graduation ceremony --- grounds for a law suit. The display of a Menorah -- the next morning the ACLU is at the court steps already litigating.
BUT:
So when the University of Michigan decided to fund $25,000 worth of ritual foot-washers for Islamic students wishing to pray, one assumed the ACLU would yell foul. After all, it is a public institution, receiving federal and state taxes and using that money for a religious device whose purpose is to facilitate prayer. Not only did the ACLU not object but it also supported the expenditure as “reasonable,” something it can never bring itself to say when activities are for Judeo-Christian expression or symbols.

Why the difference? Consider their goals and consider what you will find here (truth):

the only Churches that have closed in the U.S. have been closed because of economic reasons. Guess that would mean that Bush's corporate economy closed them and it is the Conservatives that are closing Churches and not Liberals.
