FORMER President Carter is a joke. He was a bad ineffective President who doomed this country at the time of his Presidency into a huge recession and phenomenal interest rates the likes that have not been seen since then - thank God.
He MIGHT have redeemed himself if he would have just stuck to his Habitat For Humanity work. I thought he was a better EX President than a President and I respected his work.
THEN - he went gonzo on the current administration about peace & surrender, and started to spew weird ideas about things that are just embarrassing. He should just be quiet and pick up a hammer again.

I agree with Michael. In some ways Carter may not have been a successful President, but he is a fundamentally decent man. I believe that VP Cheney is a heartless liar and a moral disaster. Of course, many vow that "might makes right." I hold that decency counts and that the ends don't justify the means. Some famous and well respected men have taught this. Of course no one with any common sense follows THOSE beliefs anymore.

Jimmy Carter who history and political writers on both sides had one of the worst presidencies is now passing judgment on the current VP, how sad a man who wrecked this country for 4 years with record high inflation, unemployment, hostages in foreign lands, gridlock in DC, deterring our intelligence agencies the ability to track opponents to our way of life and national security. Yeah we should really care what the master of disaster says about anyone. Jimmy go back to pounding nails in habitat homes and shucking peanuts the only things you did well.

Label ? -- Oh that's quite simple . Jimmy Carter is the only former president to bash a sitting President . Surprisingly , not even Bill Clinton has done so .
And we thought President Bush had cornered the market on 'Shock and Awe' !!

Carter was good for only one thing. At the time, he convinced millions of people, including clear thinking Democrats to vote Republican. The worst president in my lifetime was followed by the greatest--Ronald Reagan.
As for him calling Cheney a disaster, his entire four years as president was a disaster.

There's a reason he lost 49 out of 50 states in his

True, Carter WAS a very poor president....No doubt about it. But Cheney/Bush is a monumental failure of historic proportions....It is immpossible to wash the taint off of Cheney by attacking Carter...nice try.
